Volvo XC60 unveiled at Motor Expo 2010 Plus a showcase of all models and a big bang promotion

Volvo makes a final big bang this year with the unveiling of “Volvo XC60”, the two-wheel drive version of the crossover with the award-winning “City Safety” innovation, at the Motor Expo 2010. To help urban customers with active lifestyle celebrate the approaching New Year in style, Volvo is offering a complimentary rear seat entertainment system with independent DVD players for the buyers of the first 48 units of the 2-wheel-driveXC60.

Joining the Volvo XC60 is a parade of all Volvo premium cars that will excite the market with their presence plus a special three-tier promotion is offered — special installment package, a choice of iPhone or iPad, and a chance to win 1-carat diamond. The promotion is available for customers who take delivery of the cars before December 30, 2010.

Volvo therefore takes this opportunity to unveil our new Volvo XC60 2-wheel drive to celebrate this occasion with our customers, especially urban people with active lifestyle with taste. To make it more special, the buyers of the first 48 Volvo XC60 will get complimentary rear seat entertainment system. We have also launched a lovely 30-second TVC since late November to promote the new crossover.

“In addition to the Volvo XC60, this event is a good opportunity for visitors to experience our All New Volvo S60 with the world’s first “Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake”, Volvo’s proprietary safety innovation that enables the car to stop automatically before it hits pedestrians while driving at low speed. The government recently announced E85 excise tax restructuring is a testament for the government’s commitment to the alternative energy policy and Volvo is glad to be in a strong position to support the government.”

Volvo booth this year will focus on environmentally friendly and safety technologies, the area which Volvo has strong leadership. The concept also matches well with the Motor Expo’s overall them that focus on cooperation from everyone in using highly efficient cars that has less impact on the environment. Volvo cars are equipped with highly efficient and powerful engine and with impressive fuel efficiency and low emission or alternative energy, such as bio diesel, compatible. Highlighting its consumers’ care commitment, Volvo’s cars also have special system that ensure clean air in the passenger cabin, providing good quality air for people with allergy.

The luxury crossover for active urban people

The new XC60 is powered by 2.0L turbo diesel commonrail engine that provides 163 HP at 3,000 rpm and an impressive torque of 400Nm at 1,450-2,850 rpm, providing smooth operation. It also provides great fuel efficiency and complete combustion with low emission. The crossover runs on B5 fuel.

Safer and fun

The New Volvo XC60 continues to deliver the highest safety standard with the innovative, award-winning “City Safety” technology. The innovation enables the New XC60 to stop automatically when the car approaches the car in front too fast. This feature is activated when driving below 30 kph like in city traffic.

Other safety features include the Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Warning and Auto Brake and Active Bending Light, which increase safety and provide pleasant driving experience.

The New Volvo XC60 also comes with a range of protective safety features, such as 3-point safety belt with pretensioner on all seats, front airbags, WHIPS or whiplash protection system, front side airbags, Side Impact Protection system and collapsible steering column.
