Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Mazda dealers from all over Thailand and all employees has jointly raised Bt884,000 to help Japanese quake and tsunami victims.

Mr. Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co Ltd, Marketing Director Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee and Ravee Pongpitak, vice president of the Mazda Dealers Club in Thailand, represented Mazda and handed a total of Bt884,125.23 to Mrs. Patcharawan Chuenboon, Assistant Director of Fund Raising Bureau, the Thai Red Cross Society at a ceremony held at the Thai Red Cross reception room recently.

Mr. Yuki said, “The Northeast Japan disaster has affected the lives of a large number of people, and the management, employees and Mazda dealers in Thailand all give their condolences to the Japanese people. Mazda Thailand has collected donations from dealers and employees from all over the country to help the victims. The sum of Bt884,000 has been handed over to the Thai Red Cross Society in order to ensure transition of the aid to the victoms. Previously, Mazda Motor Corporation has initially donated 30 million Yen, and as a Japanese citizen, I must thank the Thai people for your sympathy and various forms of help. I am deeply grateful for this help.”

Sureetip said, “Every Mazda employee as well as our dealership has come out to show our sympathy, and we will maintain our presence and growth in every society, including the Thai society. When the tsunami hit Thailand in 2004, great damage was caused to the Thai people as well as other countries. Mazda Thailand offered aid and with the help of our dealers, was able to raise more than Bt2 million as well as two Mazda pickup trucks plus full support from Mazda Motor Corporation and raised a total of Bt18 million. We made the donation through the Rajprajanukroh Foundation under The Royal Patronage and used the money to build a 3-storey school building with 18 classrooms at the Rajaprajanugroh School in Takuapa District, Phang Nga. The school would become the largest school in the province and the building was handed over successfully.”

Somkuan Sirikijchinda, Managing Director of Viriya Mazda (2004) Co., Ltd. and President of the Mazda Dealers Club, said on behalf of Mazda dealers and employees from all over the country, “Everyone is shocked by the disaster and pray that everyone is safe. We have been working with Mazda for a very long time and Mazda is a Japanese brand. We are happy and ready to offer various forms of help and this time we have raised almost Bt1 million from our fellow dealers from all over the country. We also received strong support from Mazda Thailand in making sure the coordination is smooth. I would like to thank you all for the kindness and support from every member of the Mazda family in Thailand.”
