The Honda Group of Companies in Thailand and members of the Board of Investment jointly held a press conference on the preparations for the BOI Fair 2011, along with the design concept of the Honda Pavilion, “Dream for a better living” presenting a model city of the future for a sustainable world and life.

Ms. Oranuch Pruckwattananon, Marketing Division Manager, Honda Automobile (Thailand) Ltd., on behalf of the Honda Group of Companies in Thailand, said that Honda is pleased to participate in the BOI Fair 2011, which is a spectacular event that is as a part of the celebration to honor H.M. the King on his 7th cycle birthday anniversary, under the concept of “Going Green for the Future.”

“The Honda Pavilion covers a space of 2,000 square meters, and is presented under the concept of “Dream for a Better Living” that reflects the Honda business operation which is determined to develop mobility technology and a lifestyle with sustainable happiness throughout. In this fair, Honda presents green vehicle technology for both automobiles and motorcycles, which has never been launched in Thailand. There are also other innovations, such as the concept of the Honda Smart Home Energy System that reduces the CO2 emissions. All of these unique technologies will be displayed at the city of the future which is a simple eco-style design but which is full of modern technology,” Ms. Oranuch said.

The highlight of the Honda Pavilion is a large cascading waterfall, an innovative design in eco style using a waterfall instead of a structural wall. It is the only one of its kind in Thailand. It is also a technology beneficial to the environment by using water to filter heat that will come into the pavilion while at the same time being transparent to allow light to reach the interior, reducing the consumption of electricity in the pavilion by up to 40%.

Moreover, the design of the Honda Pavilion is based the policy of environmental friendliness with the 3R principle: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
  • Reduce - Emphasizing the use of natural energy to reduce the use of electricity. The structure is partially outdoors so that light can shine in with the circulation of water for the air circulation. The energy used in the pavilion comes from 50 thin solar panels developed by Honda and installed at the side of the pavilion.
  • Recycle - Most of the materials used in the pavilion came from recycled material, such as the bricks, wall and decorative objects.
  • Reuse - After the fair is over, all the materials will be donated to schools to optimize their use.

“I wish to thank the BOI that give the opportunity for Honda to take part in this spectacular fair and hope that the Honda Pavilion will help expand the vision and inspire people about life that is friendly to the environment while creating fun for everybody who visits the pavilion,” Ms. Oranuch added.

Visit the Honda Pavilion and experience Honda’s mobility innovations for a sustainable world and life at the BOI Fair 2011 at the lakeside, Muangthong Thani, during November 10-25, 2011. Details are available at
