More than 4,000 orders placed for All New Mazda BT-50 PRO within 2 weeks

Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co Ltd. has received more than 4,000 orders, almost triple of the planned retail target per month, for the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO Pickup truck just within 2 weeks of its official launch, thanks to the "Passenger car-Like" positioning and also “Hero” concept presented by Maj. Wanchana Sawasdee.

Choichi Yuki, Managing Director of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co Ltd., said that the All New Mazda BT-50 PRO, which was officially launched on January 24, will become another best-selling model from Mazda. “Just within 2 weeks after the launch, we have received more than 4,000 orders through our dealers, and some number of vehicles have already been delivered to the customers.” he said.

Mr. Yuki also said that sales in January have grown by 27 percent to 3,812 units and it comprise of 3,097 Mazda2 Elegance, 4-door and Sports, 5-door vehicles, up 76 per cent compared to the same period last year and equivalent to a 16.2 percent market share, 353 units of the all-new Mazda3 2.0L and 360 units of the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO.

Sureetip La-Ongthong Chomthongdee, Marketing Director at Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co Ltd, said the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO has become the talk of the town after its launch. “With the television commercial presenting local hero Maj. Bird, the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO breaks away from the norm with elegant design both outside and in, as well as the largest dimensions in the market. The product positioning "Passenger car-Like" has been carried out clearly and we are able to communicate directly with customers. This has made the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO a big hit in the market. Recently we also took a total of 80 journalists to test drive the outstanding all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO from Udon Thani to Luangprabang in Laos. This is another proof that the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO is creating new trend of the Thai pickup market,” she said.

The all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO comes with both freestyle cab and double cab models. Powerplants include the 3.2-liter Di-THUNDER PRO engine with 200hp and 470Nm, and the Di-THUNDER PRO 2.2-liter engine with 150hp and 375Nm. Both 2- and 4-wheel-drive versions are also available, and the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO's price is starting from only Bt589,000. The top version is priced at Bt988,000, making it eligible for the First Car Project. Mazda is also offering free insurance for the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO.

The launching of the all-new Mazda BT-50 PRO is a big challenge for Mazda since it is a pickup truck that could change Thai pickup history with beautiful design like passenger car and sporty driving performance.
