The all-new BMW 7 Series
Flagship model with innovative touch display, BMW gesture control and BMW Touch Command featuring 7-inch tablet computer

The all-new BMW 740Li's iDrive operating system is controlled by a touch display, allowing users to operate the system in the same way as modern electronic devices. In addition to using the Controller to operate the system in familiar style, its functions can also be selected and activated by touching the screen's surface. The iDrive system's functionality is further enhanced by new BMW gesture control. Hand movements detected by a 3D sensor control infotainment functions in an extremely intuitive and user-friendly fashion. Gestures can be used for a number of functions, including controlling the volume in audio applications and accepting or rejecting incoming telephone calls.

In addition, an innovative new multifunctional control unit is being offered for the all-new BMW 740Li in the form of BMW Touch Command. This removable tablet with a screen diagonal of 7 inches can be used from any seat and even outside the vehicle. It allows passengers to control comfort functions such as seat adjustment, interior lighting and air conditioning, as well as

infotainment, navigation and communication systems.

The exclusive ambience inside the all-new BMW 740Li is further enhanced by a precisely arranged lighting design. The Ambient light now includes the Welcome Light Carpet, which provides eye-catching illumination of the area around the car doors. Another unique feature is the Ambient highlight, which bathes the rear compartment with atmospheric light.

The all-new BMW 740Li is available with the Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof, which is likewise one-of-a-kind in the luxury sedan segment. At night-time, light emitted from side-mounted LED modules is directed evenly onto the glass surface, illuminating an atmospheric motif mimicking a starry sky.

Similarly unique in the luxury sedan segment is BMW Laserlight, another groundbreaking feature first developed for the BMW i8. Thanks to BMW Selective Beam, this dazzle-free headlight option can be specified for the all-new BMW 740Li as an optional package to the standard full-LED headlights. The laser headlights generate a particularly bright, pure white light as well as providing a high-beam range of 600 meters, double that of LED headlights.

The all-new BMW 740Li comes with all the right ingredients for precise, assured and harmonious handling characteristics. The suspension is supplied with air by an electrically powered compressor with pressure reservoir. This means that even when the engine is switched off, the height of the vehicle body is maintained regardless of the load being carried. And because the air supply is controlled individually for each wheel, it is even possible to compensate for an unevenly distributed load.

The all-new BMW 740Li is available with an extensively updated six-cylinder in-line variant of the BMW Group's latest generation of power units. With the 3.0 litre BMW TwinPower Turbo, output is 240 kW/326 hp at 5,500–6,500 rpm. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h can be achieved in 5.6 seconds. Average fuel consumption is 14.3 km/l with CO2 emissions at 166 g/km.

The all-new BMW X5 eDrive with plug-in hybrid technology

The BMW X5 xDrive40e is the first plug-in hybrid production car from the BMW core brand. It expertly combines the versatility and luxurious ambience of a large SAV model with the superb traction offered by the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system as well as BMW EfficientDynamics eDrive technology for exemplary efficiency.

The 2.0-litre internal combustion engine fitted in the BMW X5 xDrive40e has already won the coveted title of "International Engine of the Year" three times and features a TwinScroll turbocharger, High Precision Injection and VALVETRONIC. The most powerful four-cylinder petrol unit in the BMW Group's engine portfolio stands out for its eager power delivery, delightfully free-revving performance and highly refined running characteristics. It generates a maximum output of 180 kW/245 hp and 350 Newton metres (258 lb-ft) of peak torque.

The electric motor puts an output of 83 kW/113 hp on tap, while its maximum torque of 250 Newton metres (184 lb-ft) is available from the word go in typical electric drive fashion. This has the effect of boosting the engine's output for thrilling, instantaneous responsiveness and power build-up with absolutely no delay when accelerating from stationary. The BMW X5 xDrive40e completes the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 6.8 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h. In all-electric drive mode, meanwhile, the vehicle is capable of a top speed of 120 km/h, again electronically limited.

The intelligently controlled interaction between the combustion engine and the electric drive, which together generate a system output of 230 kW/313 hp, endows the BMW X5 xDrive40e with exceptionally dynamic acceleration while also substantially cutting fuel consumption and emissions in everyday driving. It returns a combined fuel consumption of 31.3 km/l and CO2 emissions at 76 g/km.

The plug-in hybrid design of the BMW X5 xDrive40e provides the ideal basis for extensive use of the electric drive system for highly efficient mobility, even including urban driving with zero tailpipe emissions. Its high-voltage battery offers a gross energy capacity of 9.0 kilowatt hours (kWh) and can be topped up with energy from any domestic power socket. The standard charging cable can be kept in a compartment underneath the luggage compartment floor.

When hooked up to a conventional domestic power socket the high-voltage battery can be fully recharged from flat in around 3 hours and 50 minutes. A tailor-made solution for safe, simple and extra-fast battery charging at home is available for the BMW X5 xDrive40e under the umbrella of BMW 360° ELECTRIC. The BMW i Wallbox Pure is capable of replenishing the high-voltage battery at a charging rate of 3.5 kW (16 A/230 V). As a result, it takes 2 hours and 45 minutes to fully recharge an empty battery pack.

The new BMW 3 Series

The design of the new BMW 3 Series stands out with even greater precision and various detail improvements. At the front end, new aprons with revised air intakes accentuate the feeling of width, while the sculptural rear apron design, including a Line-specific trim element, and standard LED rear lights likewise emphasize the car's width and thus its sporting appearance. An innovative lighting concept, featuring newly designed headlights and striking LED daytime driving lights, underlines the

car's sporty and powerful visual appeal.

Also celebrating its world premiere in the new BMW 320i, BMW 320i Luxury and BMW 320i Sport is a new 2.0-litre four-cylinder in-line unit. The new 2.0-litre petrol engine offers combined fuel consumption of 16.1 km/l and combined CO2 emissions of 146 g/km. The successor to the previous BMW 328i is the new BMW 330i M Sport with 185 kW/252 hp between 5,200 and 6,500 rpm. The new eight-speed Steptronic transmission plays an important part in reducing CO2 emissions. Its improved efficiency, wider gear spread and reduced torque converter slip during gear shifts reduce

CO2 emissions by 3%. For even greater driving pleasure, the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is available with steering wheel paddle shifters in the new BMW 320i Sport, BMW 320d Sport and BMW 330i M Sport.
