The current hot weather does not only bother commuters, but it also causes potential problems to the cars. Good and smart preparations are important, because, in addition to comfortability, they provide safety for all journeys.

With concern for all car users, MG Sales (Thailand) is giving a few tips on how to continue driving and riding with utmost comfort and joy under the scorching sun.

1. Follow check and maintenance schedules properly

Engines work harder in hot weathers, especially during the daytime. Auto users should guarantee their complete and appropriate maintenance by visiting service centers according to schedules. Tyres, brakes, ventilation devices as well as air-conditioning systems should be constantly checked by mechanics. With the introduction of its "mobile service", MG Sales (Thailand) has basically brought well-rounded mechanics to your doorsteps. Appointments can be conveniently made through the call center with no extra charges. This is part of the Passion Service concept aimed at providing total satisfaction and convenience to all MG car owners.

2. Avoid outdoor parking in bright sunlight

Strong sun glare does not only chip away at the gloss of car paint, but it also negatively affects car interior components. Indoor parking or the use of heat-deflecting shields on the front console is highly recommended.

3. Lower windows or open doors before starting the engine

Lowering car windows or opening doors before starting the engine helps alleviate the internal heat faster. MG3 (Hatchback and Xross) is equipped with a function to lower and shut down all windows by simply pressing a remote button for 3 seconds. By doing so, all windows will be open whether the engine is started or not. This comes in handy for car users who want to reduce the internal heat before getting into the car.

4. Wear sun glasses and take steps to protect children

Strong sun glares can negatively affect drivers and passengers even when they are inside the vehicles. Sun creams should be applied for long journeys, especially on the arms. Shields should be used to protect children on the backseats. Sunglasses should be worn all the time. Long trips under bright sunlight can be made enjoyable by MG3 entertainment system, which is easy to use and covers all necessary functions including Bluetooth connectivity.

5. Thoroughly clean all glass windows

Sunlight is brighter and lasts longer in the summer, especially in the morning and before sunset. The windshield receives direct sunlight for longer periods, and dust or other taints can seriously affect visions. It is recommended that users clean up all windows and the windshield regularly. Sunroofs on MG3 and other MG models were specifically made to protect everyone from UV radiation while keeping car interiors cool.

6. Beware of freak rainstorms

Freak rainstorms are not unusual in the summer, especially in rural areas, so all drivers must be prepared. Roads can be more slippery than usual as accumulated dust and such rains are a potentially dangerous mix. MG3 drivers, however, can rely on its three valuable systems to keep the best balance under all circumstances, namely Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Curve Brake Control (CBC).

7. Don't abandon children or pets in the cars even for a second

Interior car temperature under a hot sun can shoot up very quickly when the vehicle is parked. Lowering the windows a little doesn't help much. Car users must never leave children or pets behind in their vehicles, even for a second. Those abandoned can likely suffer a fatal heatstroke as a result.

8. Drive with relaxed moods

Cool car interior should go hand in hand with calm and relaxed moods of the drivers and passengers. Strictly observing traffic rules along with good moods will enhance driving satisfaction behind the steering wheel of MG3. The car's Selematic gear makes driving MG3 more fun than ordinary automatic gears. Combining with a firm chassis, driving the MG3 ensures safe and fun-filled journeys no matter how long they are.
