Pickup market heats up with introduction of new BT-50 PRO at Big Motor Sales 2016 improved model comes with full options and special promotion

Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd. is taking part in the Big Motor Sales 2016 with a full range of SKYACTIV models on display coming with attractive sales promotions including the CX-3, CX-5, Mazda3 and Mazda2, while the new BT-50 PRO pickup is also officially launched, featuring high equipment level, powerful turbocharged diesel engine, SUPER DE-S suspension, premium-level versatility, and the latest infotainment system.

Meanwhile, the high output from the Di-THUNDER PRO engine provides unrivalled performance. The BT-50 PRO responds to a wider range of lifestyles, with its attractive exterior and interior design, as well as a high level of luxury and a spacious, comfortable cabin. There is also a modern infotainment system that responds to the modern lifestyle of customers who live in the city. Thus, pickup customers in the present are not only from the provincial area but also from big cities," he said.

Marketing Director Mr. Thee Permpongpanth noted that Mazda sees opportunity for growth in the Thai pickup truck market where customers have high demands. "The addition of many important features makes the new Mazda BT-50 PRO the perfect pickup that answers to all requirements of the customers. Featuring an aggressive design that truly reflects the Mazda character by breaking away from the usual box design. The BT-50 PRO has its own distinctive styling that is purposeful as a Samurai. Highlights include the robust front grille design, sporty side steps, 17-inch alloy wheels, rearview camera with display on rearview mirror and innovative FREESTYLE CAB providing easy entry and exit," he said.

"The black interior with grey trim is spacious and highly comfortable, boasting premium materials like a passenger car. The Cockpit Design with leather seats offer high comfort in every seating position, with the rear seat backrest being inclined at the right angle. There is also a storage compartment with lid as well as ultra-modern infotainment system," he added.

The new BT-50 PRO comes with DVD and NAVIGATION SYSTEM, 7-inch anti-glare touchscreen for clearer images, CD & MP3 player with VIRTUAL DISCS CDC that allows you to rip as many as 6 CDs, and automatic climate control with separate left and right temperature controls.

The new BT-50 PRO is available with two engine choices:
v 3.2-liter Di-THUNDER PRO 3.2 i5 with variable nozzle turbocharger DOHC 5-cylinder 20-valve capable of producing 200ps (147kW) at 3,000rpm and 470Nm from 1,750-2,500rpm.
v 2.2-liter Di-THUNDER PRO 2.2 with new variable nozzle turbocharger and larger intercooler DOHC 4-cylinder 16-valve capable of developing 150ps (110kW) at 3,700rpm and 375Nm from 1,500-2,500rpm.

In addition, the new Mazda BT-50 PRO is also available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions with short shifter, providing excellent power delivery from low engine speeds as well as helping improve fuel economy and emission levels.

In 4WD models, the SHIFT ON THE FLY button in the cabin allows the driver to shift from 2WD to 4WD without having to stop the vehicle, while traction is also enhanced with a LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. The alternator is positioned higher than regular pickup trucks, allowing the BT-50 PRO to go through 80cm of water depth.

The new BT-50 PRO comes with global safety standards. The SUPER DE-S suspension is result of Mazda's world-famous chassis tuning technology, featuring DOUBLE WISHBONES and coil springs in front providing excellent directional control and comfort, while the STABILIZER BAR also helps improve roadholding. The LEAF SPRING rear suspension allows the BT-50 to carry heavy loads while maintaining good roadholding. The body structure is rigid, made from ULTRA HIGH TENSILE STEEL that is light and strong.
