Sandy Stuvik joins Craft Bamboo Racing in the Porsche911 GT3R

Thai racing star Stuvik will switch his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 to join the Hong Kong-based team in their #911 Porsche 911 GT3 R to compete in the Blancpain GT Series Asia alongside Australian teammate Shae Davies. Craft Bamboo Racing has a long racing history and is an iconic name in Asian motorsports. The team has most recently fielded the Factory Porsche 911 GT3 R in the legendary Bathurst 12 Hour race.

Stuvik will be returning to the Blancpain GT Series Asia looking to clinch the title in 2018, after a successful inaugural GT3 season in 2017 where he claimed a Pole Position, Class Victory, Overall Podium, and several Top-5 finishes. The Thai driver managed to finish in 6th Position in the overall standings, despite having 3 DNF's out of the 12 races.

Craft Bamboo Racing also had a successful year in 2017, where they claimed several Pole Positions, Overall Podiums, and Overall Victories. The team finished in 4th in the overall team standings. This year, the Porsche 911 GT3 R will be fitted with a '2018 Evo Spec' that should improve the car's performance.

"I'm very excited to be joining such a prestigious Asian-International team like Craft Bamboo Racing. I know that with their rich experience, we will be able to compete at the highest level, and challenge for the championship. I'm also confident in the entire team coming together and working continuously to improve ourselves and the cars," explains Sandy.

"The most important race for me this season will be at Buriram, my home round in Thailand. Last year we were looking set for a podium position until we were taken out of the race by a spinning GT4 car. The damage was so substantial that we had to retire from the entire round. With that, I felt robbed of a podium in my own country, so this year I will do everything in my power to play the National Anthem at home in front of the thousands of loyal Thai fans. They are my inspiration to go the extra mile," says Sandy.

"It's very exciting to have Sandy join Craft Bamboo Racing. We had some talks since last season so to have him in the Porsche this year is fantastic. I expect him to take a big step forward after his first GT season last year, and we aim to give him the best car and team environment to succeed. Shae (Davies) and Sandy will make a strong combination," adds Darryl O'Young, Craft Bamboo Racing Director and Racing Driver.

Sandy is supported by The Pizza Company, Singha Corporation, Dacon Inspection Services, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thai Airways, ThaiWings Travel Agency, the Sports Authority of Thailand, and the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand.
