Mazda stimulates the passenger car market with new Mazda3

After enjoying tremendous success with the launch of the new Mazda2 2018 Collection in February that gained the No.1 position in the small passenger car market, Mazda is moving ahead in the C-segment with the introduction of the new Mazda3 premium compact. The Mazda3, coming with the "Vision Beyond Imagination" concept, is ready to enter the market before this year's Bangkok Motor Show. The Mazda3 also features the KODO design theme that reflects the beauty of movement as seen in nature, along with the one and only SKYACTIV technology and G-Vectoring Control (GVC). The new Mazda3 comes with an even higher equipment, while the retail pricing has been raised by only Bt10,000, starting at Bt857,000.

The Mazda3 2018 Collection sets an unprecedented benchmark in the Thai compact car segment with the new SKYACTIV technology offering outstanding power and fuel economy, in addition to attractive styling from KODO design which is full of emotions and movement. The new Mazda3 also comes with the MZD CONNECT with 7-inch touchscreen and Center Commander control knob and i-ACTIVSENSE offering a more complete safety package. The new Soul Red Crystal color is being offered for the new Mazda3, giving the car a premium sports image. And in order to raise the premium qualities of both the brand and product, Mazda carefully improved every detail under the HMI philosophy, covering the exterior, interior, various functions as well as interior noise.

Mr. Chanchai Trakarnudomsuk, President of Mazda Sales (Thailand) Co. Ltd., said the Mazda3 is considered as a major model for Mazda in Thailand and globally. It has been highly praised for its attractive design and excellent driving dynamics. The Mazda3 is also the top-3 finalist in the 2014 World Car of the Year and 2014 Car Design of the Year events. "The Mazda3 2018 Collection is another pride from Mazda that will further strengthen the confidence of customers to the Mazda brand," he said. "We have added a large number of features including ABSM (Automatic Blind Spot Monitoring) and RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert) as standard equipment in all variants." Mazda has set a sales target of 6,000 units for the Mazda3 in 2018. The brand, meanwhile, plans to grow by 17 per cent this year with total sales of 60,000 vehicles in Thailand.

"The Mazda3 is an important model that will help Mazda grow sales," he added. "The first Mazda3 produced at the AutoAlliance Thailand plant in Rayong in 2003 carried out many achievements, with aggregate sales of 30,000 units. The second-generation model in 2011 achieved sales of 13,000 units while the third-gen model introduced in 2014 has already exceeded sales of 25,500 units. In total, more than 68,500 units of the Mazda3 has been sold in Thailand and plays an important role in the success of Mazda in the Kingdom. It makes up one-third of Mazda's global sales with over 5 million units sold in 142 countries, and has won over 180 prizes and awards from around the world."
