LG showcases Health-conscious vision and ENERGY EFFICIENT technologies in “2010 health+ evolution” event in Bangkok

Courting reporters from four Asia countries, LG announces aim of increasing its Southeast Asian market share from 22 percent in 2010 to 30 percent by 2013

LGE Air Conditioning Company, a global leader in providing complete air conditioning solutions, is holding “2010 Health+ Evolution,” a press event that includes announcements of the company’s vision, marketing strategies, technological upgrades and the unveiling of a new air conditioning unit.

At a press conference during the event, LG is to announce plans to increase its market share in Asia from 22 percent in 2010 to 30 percent by 2013. This will include a jump in sales of the Health+ Inverter from USD 60 million to USD 250 million over the same period.

Reflecting a shift toward longer and more health-conscious lives among consumers, LG has focused its expertise and experience on designing products that help create a healthier living environment. With this in mind, the “Health+ Evolution” event, a follow-on from last year’s “2009 Health+” campaign, is showcasing LG’s state-of-the-art health-conscious technologies, and all the other advances LG has made in inverter technology. It is also providing a behind-the-scenes look at LG, including insights into the company’s vision, business strategies for residential air conditioner and market analysis of the Asia region.

At the press conference, LG is also introducing its new Health+ Inverter model, which boasts health-conscious benefits, the lowest noise levels of any air conditioner (19dB) as well as the highest levels of energy efficiency, using up to 60 percent less electricity than previous, non-inverter models. The Health+ Inverter employs an advanced multi filter system that drastically reduces harmful bacteria, viruses, germs and nasty smells in the air. According to tests conducted by the KITASATO Research Center of Environmental Science in Japan, 99.9 percent of H1N1 viruses were killed in 24 hours by LG Health+ Inverter’s total virus filter system.
