Coca-Cola, the popular brand of beverage in Thailand and the world from the Coca-Cola system in Thailand, is taking the lead in bringing the excitement and happiness of the FIFA World CupTM 2014 to Thailand. Hosting the Coke Let’s Join’ event held at Central Court on the 1st floor of Central World,

Coca-Cola also launched the innovative tailor-made on Coke PET bottles for the first time in Thailand.
Present at the event is Ms. Prapaipak Weigl, Senior Brand Manager, Coca-Cola (Thailand) Limited; Ploy Horwang one of the brand ambassadors for Coca-Cola FIFA World CupTM 2014; and stylish celebrities.

Ms. Prapaipak said, “As an official sponsor of the FIFA World CupTM, Coca-Cola is happy to present to the Thai people a memorable World Cup experience through the ‘Coke Let’s Join’ activity where we will unveil an exclusive innovation that allows consumers to tailor-made Coke’s PET bottles with their portrait, a first in Thailand, and one that will serve as exclusive memento of the FIFA World CupTM 2014 experience, as only Coke can.”

Coke Let’s Join’ activity will be brought to consumers around the country (1) on 5-6 April at Maya Lifestyle Shopping Center, Chiang Mai (2) on 19-20 April at CentralWorld (3) on 25-27 April at The Mall, Nakhon Ratchasima (4) on 10-11 May at Central Had Yai. All Coke fans need to do is purchase Coke, Fanta, Sprite Schweppes or A&W Root Beer at minimum Bht 100 or buying Coca-Cola product on pre-determined conditions from participating stores, including SF Cinema City, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Mister Donut, Auntie Anne’s and Yoshinoya. They can then have their tailor-made Coke’s PET bottles as exclusive mementoes of the FIFA World CupTM 2014.

“Not only will consumers have their photos imprinted on Coke bottles, some selected photos will be featured on billboards to promote FIFA World CupTM in Thailand. A few lucky ones may be selected for display on giant ‘Coca-Cola Happiness Flags’ alongside other consumer photos from around the world. The flag will be displayed on 12 June 2014 during the opening ceremony of the FIFA World CupTM 2014 in Brazil,” said Ms. Prapaipak.

Ploy Horwang, one of the brand ambassadors for Coca-Cola FIFA World CupTM 2014, said, “I have followed nearly every FIFA World CupTM because it is a much-awaited sports event for people the world over. Another special this time is the innovative Coca-Cola PET bottle, which can be tailor-made and personalized for the consumer. Even Coke managed to make FIFA World CupTM everyone’s cup and I, too, can make my special and stylish collection for FIFA World CupTM 2014. It’s not something that happens every day. Only Coke can make this happiness sharing possible.”

Ms. Prapaipak added, “Furthermore, Coke will also share the happiness with consumers through the FIFA World CupTM 2014 anthem, entitled ‘The World Is Ours’, sung by David Correy, a promising Brazilian-born American artist. At Coke Let’s Join’ party, ‘The World Is Ours’ will be performed live in Thai version by Lunatic, the winners of Coke Music Awards 2013.”

Coca-Cola has prepared a number of exclusive promotions for Thai consumers, as only Coke can. This will include (1) a promotion where consumers are encouraged to watch, cheer and cross fingers for the 2014 FIFA World CupTM matches in the comfort of their home to win a ‘Home Upgrade” decorating set. During the duration of the FIFA World CupTM 2014, altogether 50 sets will be given away per week, for a total of 450 sets worth over Bht 23 million; (2) as one of the main sponsors for the FIFA World CupTM live broadcast, Coke brings a total of 64 live matches to Thai households (3) a special collection of Coke Slim/Sleekcans with flag prints of their favourite teams for fans to collect will be prepared as souvenirs of the FIFA World CupTM 2014.

Coca-Cola has been a sponsor of the FIFA World CupTM for over 60 years starting with pitch-side billboard advertising. An agreement was signed for official sponsorship from 1976 through to 2022. As the sport promotes an active and healthy living among Thais and consumers worldwide, the brand has since provided unstinting support for the game of football.
