Bangkok, 26 August 2015: Opening its doors today are the region’s leading exhibitions serving the synergistic packaging, printing, plastics and rubber sectors – PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL and T-PLAS 2015. Officially opened by Thailand’s Minister for Industry Dr. Atchaka Sribunruang, the two co-located exhibitions welcome more than 500 exhibitors from more than 20 countries, including national pavilions and country groups from Austria, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan - represented at T-PLAS 2015.

Commenting on the relevance of the exhibitions as Thailand strengthens its position as the manufacturing hub of Southeast Asia, Dr. Sribunruang said: “The timely co-staging of PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL and T-PLAS 2015, bring together the four sectors of packaging, printing, plastics and rubber under one roof – serve as that one-stop, opportune platform for industry players to tap on the burgeoning market opportunities in Thailand and the region through the building of business networks and exchanging of expertise. And from it, heighten Thailand’s manufacturing and service sectors to international standards.”

Further reflected at the biennial exhibitions is its internationality, which sees 80% of exhibiting companies at T-PLAS 2015 coming from across the globe. “The growing international flavour of both exhibitions, up by about 20% compared to the last editions in 2013 is testament to the interest in the region and business opportunities Southeast Asia has to offer particularly with the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) later this year,” said Mr Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia.

Both exhibitions expect to attract more than 20,000 trade visitors from Thailand and around the region, alongside visiting delegations from India, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, and for the first time - Mauritius.
