Warner TV, World Heritage Channel, HLN, Boomerang and Toonami debut on Thai telecommunications platform with linear TV and catch-up content

AIS, Thailand's leading mobile operator, will carry five Turner channels on its Playbox OTT service and Play mobile app from today (April 8). Almost 40 million AIS mobile subscribers are now able to live stream the five linear channels as well as watch catch-up content from Warner TV, World Heritage Channel, HLN, Boomerang and Toonami.

The two kids' channels, Boomerang and Toonami, are packaged with an AIS mobile subscription and available to all existing subscribers, while Warner TV, World Heritage Channel and HLN are accessible with an additional fee or as part of a bundle package for selected accounts. All channels are however available to all for a 3-month trial period, as part of a launch promotion.

Suvit Arayavilaipong, SVP – Product Management of AIS added: "AIS turns mobile devices into much more than just a tool for making and receiving voice calls. With a variety of quality entertainment and productivity applications and digital content, and through the AIS PLAYBOX and the AIS PLAY app, we bring you a whole new world-class entertainment experience of movies, TV series and shows."

The AIS PLAY app is available to AIS customers in Thailand via the App Store and Play Store. AIS Customers can access live content from 100 different channels as well as countless hours of video on demand.

The AIS PLAYBOX is an IPTV set-top box service that offers both linear TV and video on demand, effectively converting a conventional TV set to a smart TV via the AIS Fibre network. Customers can access additional content from partners such as CTH and HOOQ.

Phil Nelson, Managing Director of Turner in Southeast Asia, said: "AIS subscribers can now tap into an impressive slate of video entertainment from Turner's diverse portfolio, across a wide range of programming genres. Boomerang and Toonami are already Thailand's top-two kids' channels so it's fantastic to work with AIS to offer the brands to an even wider audience, on-the-go, via their mobile devices.

"Warner TV – with its unrivalled line-up of superhero series, comedies, Hollywood blockbusters and action shows – will complete the content offering along with news service HLN and documentary channel World Heritage Channel."

Turner is the first international broadcaster to offer premium content on the AIS platforms and the five brands are the first premium pay-TV channels to launch. This is also the first time that HLN and World Heritage Channel brands have been made available on any platform in Thailand.
