This March, Discovery Channel sheds new light on one of the greatest unsolved murder cases in history by re-examining the gruesome details of the murders committed by London’s infamous Jack the Ripper. Ed Norris, one of America’s best cold case investigators, takes a look at a series of horrific murders that took place across the United States in the 1890s. Armed with convincing new evidence, Norris links the murders that happened more than a hundred years ago across two continents, to possibly reveal the killer who terrorized London.

Was this the same person who committed similar atrocities in America? Find out in JACK THE RIPPER IN AMERICA premiering on Sunday March 7 at 2100 hrs on TrueVisions 20 Encores on Monday March 8 at 0000 hrs, 0800 hrs and 1400 hrs, Thursday March 11 at 1800 hrs and Sunday March 14 at 0400 hrs and 0800 hrs.

Ed Norris has spent his whole life solving horrific crimes but solving this cold case will prove to be his toughest yet. With no forensics, no witnesses and only a 125-year-old paper trail, Norris has to rely on old-fashioned sleuthing, research and investigation to get to the bottom of the unsolved murders.

Norris starts out his investigation by casting a fresh perspective on the heinous murder of English immigrant and sex worker, Carrie Brown, in New York on April 23 1891. With mounting similarities between the killings in the United States and the monstrous, highly distinctive murders in London, the question arises, was this the work of a copy cat killer or could The Ripper have travelled 5,000 kilometres across the Atlantic from his old killing ground for his new victims?

JACK THE RIPPER IN AMERICA re-examines the basic evidence from the cross-continental murders to find the clues missed by the original investigators. Tune in as Discovery Channel unravels the mysteries of the world’s greatest cold case in JACK THE RIPPER IN AMERICA.
