New wax figures of Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, today took up residence at four Madame Tussauds attractions in London, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok, after the statesman met himself 'in wax' at a private viewing earlier this week.

Mr Modi has been involved in the creation of his figure from the beginning of the process and was pleased with the final results when he came face to face with himself in Delhi on Monday.

He said: "What can I say? As far as art is concerned, the Madame Tussauds team is exceptional at what they do. What Lord Brahma does normally is what the artists there are doing. Today, I had an opportunity as the prime servant of my people to meet my wax figure."

The Prime Minister will join other contemporary world leaders at Madame Tussauds Bangkok including …General Prem Tinsulanonda, President Obama and Aung San Suu Kyi as well as political giants of the past like Mahatma Ghandi, Kukrit Pramoj and Mao Zedong.

"We are delighted to welcome Mr Modi to the world stage here at Madame Tussauds Bangkok," commented Head of Bangkok Cluster at Merlin Entertainments (Thailand), Noppadon Prapimpant. "It's wonderful that he had the opportunity to see his figure in India earlier this week before the public get the chance to meet him here. His social media following shows just what immense interest there is in him and I'm sure that interest will be apparent here too as guests get the chance to stand shoulder to shoulder with one of the most influential men in the world. And maybe even grab a selfie."

Mr Modi's figure is dressed in his signature Kurta in cream with jacket and he is featured in a traditional pose making a namaste gesture. Each figure took a team of talented artists four months and cost £150,000/local equivalent to create.

Those interested in world politics can stand shoulder to shoulder and measure up to lifelike figures of many world leaders at Madame Tussauds Bangkok, located on the sixth floor of Siam Discovery. Tickets cost 590 baht for adults and 490 baht for children (3-11 years). For more information please call 0 2658 0060 or visit https://www.madametussauds.com/Bangkok/ .
