WEST MEETS EAST: GREAT ASIAN TALENTS WHO ROCKED AMERICA’S GOT TALENT S12 STAGE

Jackie Chan, Yao Ming, Lucy Liu, Lea Salonga are just some of the big names recognized in the world. These individuals have shown exemplary talent in their respective fields, and have remained connected to their roots, making their nations proud. It is undeniable that the Eastern part of the globe is home to many undiscovered talents. Different talent competitions from all over the world are venues to showcase different acts.

America's Got Talent is one of the most popular shows where different acts from all over the world dream of performing. On the 12th season of the competition, different Asian acts took a shot and left big impressions on the judges and the audience.

Angelica Hale

Talent definitely comes in all sizes. This 10-year-old Filipino-American sweetheart did not just impress the judges with her powerful voice but also her fighting spirit. At the tender age of four, singer Angelica Hale contracted a high-risk strep infection that affected multiple organs, requiring her to undergo several surgeries as well as a kidney transplant made possible through her mother, Eva Hale. The judges were totally blown away by her singing prowess as soon as she hit the first few notes of her audition piece and getting them on their feet as she finished her song.

Will Tsao

Taiwan-born close-up magician had a rough time when their family moved to Canada when he was 15 years old. Despite working multiple jobs to help provide for their family, it was never enough. For a good period of time, he was homeless, living on the streets. It was magic that gave him courage to change his life remembering the first time he saw a street magician when he was a kid. Performing for the first time on stage, his magic skills definitely blew the judges and the audience away. In Judge Howie Mandel's words "I have seen so much close up magic, I swear to you, this was ultimately, by far, the best close up magic I have ever seen in my life!"

Demian Aditya

Escape artist and illusionist Demian Adiya from Jakarta, Indonesia literally put the judges and audience on their feet as he performed his thrilling escape acts. Demian was not just putting up a show, he was also putting his life in danger. Successful or not, he was received well on America's Got Talent and showed that there are good magicians and illusionists from Asia.

Just Jerk

All-male dance group from South Korea took a shot to showcase their unique dance performance in the big stage of America's Got Talent and nailed it. Giving it all for what may be their last performance together before serving in the military, the judges were all on their feet after their audition. The audience were cheering so loud and totally enjoyed the performance. Judge Simon Cowell said that the group's performance was something that he would remember.

Celine Tam

Another young lady proved that age does not matter when you have a big talent to show. This instant charmer from Hong Kong, named after the famous singer Celine Dion, immediately won the hearts of the audience as she walked on stage. Her version of My Heart Will Go On received a standing ovation and loud cheer from the audience and the judges. Hard to please judge Simon Cowell said that she was incredible and the rest of the judges were delighted with her performance.
