BDMS is once again collaborating with Viriyah Insurance in promoting health of Thai people by incorporating world-class medical services from 45 hospitals nationwide across the BDMS network into 'Viriyah Healthcare by BDMS’, which was developed to raise health awareness among Thai people after the findings of surging cases of illnesses at younger age groups. The program also aims to encourage Thai people to have health insurance as part of the healthcare fundamentals which function as a major driving force for national development.

Mrs. Narumol Noi-am, Acting President, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Co., Ltd. (BDMS) disclosed details of the collaboration with Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited that it marks a significant milestone of BDMS and its insurance partner in providing Thai people with health services. Aimed at promoting health of Thai people, the program offers an opportunity and an option of receiving world-class medical care with easier access. BDMS is determined to honor its commitments under four areas including readiness of 47 hospitals nationwide across the BDMS network to provide medical services, experience of medical specialists and expertise sharing with health experts in each field from leading international hospitals, medical technology advances, and attention to service paid by medical professional teams who truly understand the needs of patients—all will be offered to Thai people.

“The spread of the COVID-19 has clearly demonstrated that 'the importance of health must not be ignored’. It is not always true that healthy people will stay healthy as Thai people are being threatened by illnesses especially at younger ages. With the realization of such issue, hospitals across the BDMS network have placed a strong focus on clinical quality and standards of medical services, and developed Centers of Excellence affiliated with other world-class medical institutions and specialists across different clinical areas including cancer, cardiovascular, neurology and brain, orthopedics, and trauma to instill confidence and trust in treatment results. The centers offer comprehensive services ranging from prevention, treatment to rehabilitation with ceaseless effort to find business partnership in order to deliver only top-tier medical services, which is the reason for the collaboration with Viriyah Insurance on Viriyah Healthcare by BDMS.”

BDMS has earned trust from both national and international health insurance companies in being partnered to provide their customers with medical care. Recently, BDMS collaborated with PING AN HEALTH, China’s largest insurance company, in furthering expansion of providing world-class medical services corresponding to the “Plan for Healthy China 2030”. It is once again such a great opportunity that BDMS collaborated with Viriyah Insurance, one of Thailand’s leading insurance companies, in launching Viriyah Healthcare by BDMS which was developed for Thai people to be able to access medical care with more convenience at hospitals nationwide across the BDMS network” added Mrs. Narumol Noi-am.

Bangkok Hospital is in the first rank of Thailand’s best private hospitals. Also, Samitivej Hospital and Phyathai Hospital are on the 100 World’s Best Hospitals 2020 by Newsweek, an American weekly news magazine. “BDMS is ready to provide all Thai people with world-class medical services. The hospital network comprises 47 hospitals nationwide across 6 major hospital groups – Bangkok Hospital Group, Samitivej Hospital Group, Phyathai Hospital Group, Paolo Hospital Group, and BNH Hospital Group with more than 6,000 beds, over 12,000 qualified doctors and 9,000 nurses working for BDMS’s medical professional teams, as well as

Centers of Excellence which BDMS is committed to maintaining world-class operating levels with specialists from various fields and state-of-the-art medical facilities and experienced medical professional teams, ensuring the capacity to provide clients of Viriyah Healthcare by BDMS with exceptional standards of care. BDMS will continue collaborating with its partner to provide world-class medical services by experienced medical experts to maintain confidence of the insured in every service at BDMS.” said Mrs. Narumol Noi-am.

Mr. Kriangsak Potikasem, Assistant Managing Director, Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited revealed that currently most Thai people do not have access to health insurance. Consequently, the company discussed the issue with BDMS to seek reduction in people’s healthcare expenditures, particularly through the promotion of having the first health insurance policy. With the latest scheme of health insurance which is in line with the post COVID-19 economy and income of the majority, Viriyah Healthcare by BDMS offers affordable, value-for-money insurance premiums in which the capacity of both companies is a factor contributing Thai people to be able to easily access health insurance and make prompt decision to purchase.

“Throughout 73 years, Viriyah Insurance has been committed to creating and sharing benefits to Thai society through ensuring security of life and property of people. The very essence of this collaboration is thus aimed at the launch of new health insurance products to cope with the demands for healthcare. Viriyah Insurance set a question of how insurance premium can be more accessed by Thai people so that they can make a prompt decision to purchase a health insurance policy. This has led to the development of a new product covering a variety of medical expenses, which was designed as an annual one-time flat fee offering unlimited number of services and continuous benefits every year with the protection covering the age range between 16 and 60 years old and continuing to the age of 80. In addition, it offers low premiums consistent with current income of the majority in the country.”
