Bangkok--26 Sep--SET Co., Ltd. today introduces a new web application, “Settrade Streaming for Android,” enabling the new generation of investors to more easily trade equities and derivatives real-time via smartphone and tablet.

The new application has been developed with a cutting-edge design and convenient functions, enabling investors to trade more conveniently and quickly, anywhere and anytime. Users of Samsung Galaxy Smartphone, Tab and Note can download the application via Samsung Apps Stores from September 24, while Android apps for other brands will be available from January 2013 on.

“Internet trading investors currently account for 52.84 percent of the total trading value of retail investors, up from 49.25 percent in 2011, with promising growth. Meanwhile, the number of investors trading via mobile phone is growing quickly -- to 3 times larger than in 2011. Also, the value of trades done via smartphone has risen from 3.34 percent of total trading via Internet in 2011 to 5.21 percent in 2012. These figures clearly show that investor behavior is changing. Thus, developed this application to meet the current investors’ lifestyle, enabling them to easily access and trade via the Internet themselves using either their smartphone or tablet. In addition, also joined with Samsung to hold a promotion for investors who trade via ‘Settrade Streaming for Android, giving them chances to win 10 Samsung Galaxy Tab2s. This event was the second cooperative effort with Samsung, after we got a warm welcome from investors last year when we launched ‘Streaming Pro for Samsung Galaxy Tab,’ said Pakorn Peetathawatchai, Director, Co., Ltd.

Wichai Pornpratang, Vice President of Telecommunication Business, Thai Samsung Electronics Co.,Ltd., said: “The cooperation with underlines Samsung’s commitment to develop products to meet all segments of consumer demand, and also keep another Samsung obligation, which is to stimulate usage of smartphones, tablet and note for to full capacity, because consumers mostly under-utilize use these tools. This cooperative effort should not only facilitate real-time trading and prove that the Samsung Galaxy line is able to meet the heavy demands of business, but also to provide real-time access to information and to trade equities and derivatives. Users of Samsung Galaxy Smartphone running on Android 2.3 OS and newer, Galaxy Tab and Galaxy Note including Note 10.1 and Note II, can use this application prior three months by downloading the application from Samsung Apps Stores from September 24. We believe this cooperation between Samsung and will mark a significant advance for stock trading by the new generation in the near future.”

Key features of “Settrade Streaming for Android” are that investors can now trade both equities and derivatives with a single web application, online monitoring of index and stocks, and modernized design with new ease of access.
