Creating New Asian Power, Global OConnect Opens A Flagship Exhibition Warehouse In Vietnam

Wednesday 29 June 2016 09:09
On June 30th, 2016, Global OConnect, headquartered in Hong Kong with a focus on promoting international trading and exchange, will open its exhibition warehouse in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is the first of its kind in Vietnam and in the country's economic center where 1/3 of the country's GDP is generated. It is also a demonstrative flagship facility for Global OConnect. The company has plans to build a second warehouse in Hanoi later this year.

With a mission to promote global trade, Global OConnect leverages an online sourcing platform and provides offline services through its exhibition warehouses where interested buyers can have first-hand experiences of targeted products, and Chinese suppliers are provided with space for storage and consulting services on international trading. These exhibition warehouses are being built and operated around the world. So far, Global OConnect has successfully established itself in Moscow, Russia; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; and Warsaw, Poland.

Vietnam is the most vital and fastest-growing economy among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, thanks to its stable political environment and advantageous geographical location on the Indo-China Peninsula. Vietnam's economy is steadily growing at nearly 7 percent this year which makes it among the fastest-growing markets in the world. Domestic demand is growing and foreign direct investment is booming.

Fully recognizing Vietnam's increasing importance and potential in world's economy picture, Global OConnect has chosen to build its flagship facility in the country.

Once set up, Global OConnect will serve as the agent connecting Vietnamese businesses with global suppliers and buyers. Vietnamese businesses are offered a wide selection of products manufactured in China as well as in other countries as part of the benefits of Global OConnect's worldwide supply chain. With its B2B model, other benefits to local businesses include lowered costs, efficiency in deal operation, and more opportunities for local SMEs, as opposed to threats posed by a B2C model. All products showcased in Global OConnect's exhibition warehouse are strictly examined by Vietnam customs to ensure quality and authenticity. In the meantime, as Vietnam is strong in manufacturing, it is an opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to showcase their products for buyers from China and other countries.

Currently, Vietnamese-made electronics, furniture, garments and shoes have successfully paved their way into China's consumer market, and agricultural products are also imported from Vietnam to China.

With the Vietnamese market showing strong demand for lighting products, and due to the country's lack of power infrastructure and increasing disasters caused by global climate change, the Vietnamese government is advocating the use of LED products. Therefore initially, Global OConnect's exhibition warehouse will be partially filled with LED products. Products related to hotel bedding and utensils will be another sector that Global OConnect will focus on, since the tourism industry is one of the top GDP contributors for Vietnam.

With its proximity to China, Hanoi will be the second location for a Global OConnect facility and a key part of the company's broader plan for franchising the business in Vietnam.
