Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp. Outlook Revised To #BBB+# Ratings Affirmed Stcoks—26 Jul 16

HONG KONG--26 Jul--S&P Global Ratings

HONG KONG (S&P Global Ratings) July 26, 2016--S&P Global Ratings said today that it had revised its rating outlook on Tingyi (Cayman Islands) Holding Corp. to negative from stable. We affirmed our 'BBB+' long-term corporate credit rating on the China-based food and beverage company. We also affirmed our 'BBB+' long-term issue rating on Tingyi's senior unsecured notes. At the same time, we affirmed our 'cnA+' long-term Greater China regional scale rating on Tingyi and the notes.

"We revised the outlook to reflect our view that prolonged intense competition and Tingyi's lack of commercially successful product innovation in recent quarters could increase the company's financial leverage over the next 12-24 months," said S&P Global Ratings credit analyst Sophie Lin.

We expect the company's debt-to-EBITDA ratio to increase to about 2.5x in 2016, from 1.8x in 2015. The company's good operating cash flow and disciplined capital spending should temper the risks.

We could lower the rating if Tingyi's debt-to-EBITDA ratio stays about 2.5x without any sign of improvement. This could happen if: (1) the company's competitive position continues to deteriorate due to its slower response to fast-changing consumer preferences than peers', resulting in a close to 10% decline in sales or
