HONG KONG--27 Nov--S&P Global Ratings

HONG KONG (S&P Global Ratings) Nov. 27, 2017--S&P Global Ratings today assigned its 'A+' issue rating to Alibaba Holding Group Ltd.'s proposed senior unsecured notes. The issue rating is the same as the corporate credit rating on Alibaba (A+/Stable/--).

Alibaba will use the issuance proceeds for general corporate purposes, including working capital, repayment of offshore debt, and potential acquisitions of, or investments in, complementary businesses.

The proposed transaction will have minimal effect on Alibaba's key credit measures. As of Sept. 30, 2017, Alibaba was in a net cash position and we expect the company to remain so at least over the next two years.
