SET announces SET Awards 2017 winners to recognize listed firms’ capabilities

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) today announces the 22 winners from 21 listed firms at the SET Awards 2017 event, with Pitak Ratchakitprakarn, President & CEO of PTG Energy pcl (PTG) winning the Best CEO Awards of SET-listed companies for the second consecutive year and Prasong Tharachai, CEO of Project Planning Service pcl (PPS), being awarded with the Best CEO Awards of mai-listed companies, while Piyajit Ruckariyapong, CEO of Sappe pcl (SAPPE) winning the Young Rising Star CEO Award.

SET President Kesara Manchusree said, "We congratulate and honor all the winners of SET Awards this year. They have distinguished achievements in their own fields. This year Pitak Ratchakitprakarn, President & CEO of PTG, has won Best CEO Awards for two consecutive years. This reflects his continuing remarkable vision, strategies and management capabilities to reach achievements, while Prasong Tharachai, CEO of PPS, has won the Best CEO Award of mai-listed companies. In addition, Piyajit Ruckariyapong, CEO of SAPPE, Young Rising Star CEO Award winner, is a young visionary executive with outstanding and well-rounded charisma who motivates young employees to show their capabilities while creating a happy and fun working environment."

Santi Viriyarungsarit, Editor-in-Chief of Money & Banking magazine, the SET Awards co-host and one of the distinguished judges, said, "The Best Innovative Company Award winners this year are IRPC pcl (IRPC) for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene project and S&J International Enterprises pcl (S&J) for Encapsulation technology. All have shown their outstanding innovations as well as internal innovation management process. In addition, "Best Deal of the Year" Award goes to the amalgamation between Bangkok Expressway pcl (BECL) and Bangkok Metro pcl (BMCL) to become Bangkok Expressway and Metro pcl (BEM), having Finansa Securities Co., Ltd. as its financial advisor.

The SET Awards 2017 are grouped into seven categories: 1) Best CEO Awards and the Young Rising Star CEO Award; 2) Best Company Performance Awards; 3) Best Investor Relations Awards; 4) Best Innovative Company Awards; 5) Best Securities Company Awards; 6) Best Asset Management Company Award; and 7) Best Deal of the Year Award.
