SET announces four winners of 20th youth music competition awards

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), in collaboration with the College of Music, Mahidol University, held the 20th SET Youth Music Competition in which four winners were awarded scholarships worth a total of over THB 1.8 million for their outstanding performance and creativity.

The gold medalists in primary school, junior high school, high school and high education levels were Krittikun Jaroenphansutthi, Patrajaree Vanichvongvan, Pariyachart Sitthidamrongkarn, and Kitsada Chairattansak, respectively.

SET President Kesara Manchusree said SET has continuously supported the College of Music, Mahidol University in organizing the annual SET Youth Music Competition for 20 years, with an aim at being a path for youth to sharpen their music skills towards the national and global levels. Enhancing musical talents of youth is crucial and needs supports. This will enable them to excel and gain experience at more advanced stages to showcase their abilities. SET is committed to social works to create the upmost benefits to people from all walks of life to be in accordance with SET's vision ''To Make the Capital Market Work for Everyone.'

"Throughout these two decades there have been almost 20,000 students participated and this year 438 music pieces entered the competition. All contestants are well-disciplined with determination, and dedication to their rehearsals to deliver the most impeccable performance each time, which has become useful to their life skills too. We're confident that the skills developed from the contest will be applicable to their studies and their lives now and in the future. Significantly, this stage has been the venue for many of the winners to become professional musicians at national and international levels, bringing fame and prestige to Thailand," Kesara added.

Narong Prangcharoen Dean of the College of Music, Mahidol University, expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the SET Foundation, the competition's competent judges, as well as the devoted parents and instructors. The synergy of all the supports from all parties has greatly enhanced the art of music and the youth's quality of life as a whole.

The honorary panel of judges for the final round consisted of: Sugree Charoensook, Naovarat Pongpaiboon, Narit Sektheera,Prateep Suphanrojn, Capt. Pasakorn Suwanaphan, Vanchai Tantivitayapitak, Pratak Faisupagarn, Vinai Phunturak, Chaiwat Wong-arsa, Christopher Jan Wong McKiggan, Anuchat Piroonanapaisarn, Jitrakorn Mongkholtham, Dongkamol Pechlert, Narong Prangcharoen, and Krisada Sektrakul.
