Photo Release: Bumrungrad International Hospital selects IBM Watson, a computing breakthrough to transform care for cancer patients

Dr. Num Tanthuwanit, Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director ofBumrungrad (2nd from right), and Parnsiree Amatayakul, Managing Director, IBM Thailand (3rd from right), recently announced a new collaboration to use IBM Watson cognitivecomputing technology to improve patient care. Bumrungrad is the first medical institution outside North America to use IBM Watson for Oncology, a system developed with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the world’s oldest and largest private cancer center. IBM Watson will help oncologists develop treatment plans based on the latest clinical evidence relevant to each patient’s case.
