Education New Zealand ensures that New Zealand’s brand new initiatives will spur New Zealand become the first choice of a study destination among Thai students.

Recent research shows that New Zealand comes out of the largest international comparison ever undertaken amongst international students with a glowing record. Satisfaction ratings are higher than international averages across a range of key indicators, including teaching, staff, expertise, safety and cost.

Robert Stevens, Chief Executive of Education New Zealand said, “We are particularly pleased that the Government has recognized and committed further support to many industry led initiatives that are integral to the development of international education, and we applaud the ongoing commitment to initiatives such as international promotion of New Zealand as an educational destination, improving immigration policies and negotiating trade agreements.”

Karlene Davis, Trade Commissioner; New Zealand Trade and Enterprise; New Zealand Embassy, says, “Although New Zealand is a well-known option for Thai students considering their secondary school education overseas, Thailand is predominantly a postgraduate market. However, the big picture shows opportunities for growth across all sectors; which include the English language sector and Vocational programs.”

“In recognition of these needs and to communicate such initiatives, Gewalin Lertrasameewong, Country Manager — Thailand for Education New Zealand, organizes New Zealand Education Fairs 2009 in Chiang Mai, Bangkok and Phuket from 13 to 16 June 2009 to highlight how New Zealand can meet Thailand’s education needs. To accomplish ongoing excellent education and student support, we are officially launching Education New Zealand Centre in Thailand this month,” Karlene said.

Ms. Gewalin said, “We not only adopt innovative and exciting ways of marketing New Zealand education but we have also developed new areas of tuitions and opened up new market possibilities.”
