This year marks the 12 edition of F1 at SIC, which have been hosting the sport since 1999. Built in 1998, Sepang International Circuit (SIC) is the first of the modern race circuits designed to challenge man and machine and provide spectators with the very best facilities and service to enjoy the race. Sepang offers some of the best experience a fan can have in immersing themselves in the F1 lifestyle.

At the track, this F1 season will be the most exciting yet with the return of what some say the best driver in the world, back into F1, Michael Schumacher. And that’s not all; he is joined by world’s champions, Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton and last but not least Fernando Alonso in their quest for this year’s championship. Spectators will not only witness the world’s hottest F1 race but will get their sensors overcharged with the 2010 MALAYSIAN GRAND PRIX CONCERT featuring famous international artist like Wycleaf Jean and Fatboy Slim right after the race.

This year … hundreds of energetic youths from all races dancing to the rhythm for the opening ceremony in show of unity and harmony and in true 1Malaysia Spirit to be showcase to the world on Race Day. It’s something that fans can really look forward to. SIC also targets 100,000 spectators for the race and 160,000 for the three-day event, the 2010 Formula 1 PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix would be held at Sepang Circuit from April 2 to 4. It would be Round 3 of a 19-leg championship which would open in Bahrain .

For 2010, PETRONAS, which previously worked with BMW and Sauber, would be the title sponsor of Mercedes GP PETRONAS team, which had sensationally wooed back the legendary Michael Schumacher to compete in the championship this year; partnering German compatriot Nico Rosberg.

Supported by Proton, Air Asia, Naza Group and Tune Group, the Lotus F1 Racing Team is the 1Malaysia Racing Team headed by Datuk Seri Tony Fernandes and featuring drivers Italian Jarno Trulli, Finland Heikki Kovailanen and Malaysian Fairuz Fauzy as the reserve driver.

For the first time in the history of F1, there would be two teams carrying the interest of Malaysia and that itself had made this year Formula 1 race in Sepang very special. It had also boosted interest for ticket sales this year and it is hopeful of a record turnout this year.
