DHL inaugurates its ?5.5 million gateway in Casablanca at Mohammed V airport

New gateway features a cold chain facility and strategic parts centre

Enhanced air connectivity with dedicated DHL flight to and from Europe

Customers to enjoy reduced cargo processing time and enhanced service quality

DHL, the world’s leading logistics company, has opened its ?5.5 million (MAD 60 million) DHL Express gateway in Casablanca, Morocco. Located at Mohammed V International Airport, the 6,800 sqm gateway is DHL’s first facility of such scale in the country. Equipped with a cold chain facility and a dedicated strategic parts center, the DHL Express Casablanca gateway is set to provide greater connections between Morocco and Europe, through a daily overnight flight to and from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle International Airport.

Operating 24/7, the DHL Express Casablanca gateway boosts of a warehouse space of 3,455 sqm and is fully compliant with TAPA security guidelines. It is furnished with a state-of-the-art security system, including two X-Ray machines, full-access control system and over 30 closed circuit TV units. Equipped with eight full-size unit loading device (ULD) sorting positions, the facility has the capacity to sort conveyable shipments to a peak capacity of up to 4,000 shipments per day. All these capabilities will allow DHL to ensure customer shipments are handled and delivered with maximum efficiency and security at the shortest transit timings.

Meeting the needs of life science, automotive and high-tech customers through onsite cold chain logistics and strategic parts center

The cold chain facility located within the DHL Express Casablanca Gateway provides a temperature controlled area (-5?C to 8?C), which can handle temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and life science products. The strategic parts center is catered to store and manage distribution of mission-critical spare parts for customers, especially those in the high-tech and electronic industries. The gateway taps into DHL’s extensive global network, facilitating inbound and outbound shipments to and from customers in Morocco and the region.

The gateway also provides DHL customers with multiple facilities and features, among them three truck loading/ unloading docks, and three van loading/ unloading doors.
