FedEx Announces Sponsorship of PTT Thailand Open Bangkok

FedEx Continues to Deliver as World Leader in Global Sports Sponsorships

FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), as the new global Platinum Sponsor and Official Carrier of the ATP World Tour, today announced its sponsorship of the PTT Thailand Open, Sept. 24 —Oct. 2, 2011.

Bringing to life the FedEx attributes of reliability, excellence, precision and leadership, the global sponsorship also includes 17 other ATP World Tour tournaments in 13 different countries, including China (Oct. 10, 2011 in Shanghai), and Japan (Oct. 3, 2011 in Tokyo) in the Asia Pacific region.

A group of 23 ATP-branded FedEx vans will take to regular delivery routes in central Bangkok in the lead up to and during the competition period, adorned with The FedEx ‘Live to Deliver’ tournament message.

“FedEx is renowned as a global leader in the express transportation industry. We are delighted to include the PTT Thailand Open under our banner,” said David Carden managing director, FedEx Express Thailand and IndoChina.

“Tennis is a game which draws many synergies with FedEx. Champion tennis players are quick to respond to changing circumstances on the court, just as we do in business. They understand the value of precision, the absolute need for reliability and they share our commitment to upholding the highest standards of performance.”

“For all these reasons we feel this sponsorship is a particularly good fit for FedEx Express in Thailand and we are delighted to be the ‘Official Carrier’ for the tournament.”

Carden said the company planned to develop a number of special activities around its sponsorship, including customer and employee engagement promotions, and a special visit for underprivileged children to the tournament to watch the international tennis stars play.

As part of its global initiative, tennis fans also have access to the FedEx Reliability Zone, a specially developed portal offering enhanced analysis and information on participating players including: performance and match history; player consistency on various surfaces and pressure situations, along with videos and polls. The site is accessible through the ATPWorldTour.com.

The FedEx ATP sponsorship was launched at the 2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in November 2010 and will extend through 2013.
