FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, marks its annual FedEx Cares Week—a celebration of volunteerism at FedEx—in the Asia Pacific region Sept.17-25. Now in its fourth year in the region, FedEx is supporting activities that will give back to the community in which it operates.

As part of the week’s activities, volunteers in Thailand, led by David Carden, managing director of FedEx Express Thailand and Indochina, commute to Sakeaw Province to present a donation of THB 175,000 and school supplies to Baan Rai Sam Sri School. The funds will be used to renovate an assembly hall. FedEx team members will also help build an environmentally-friendly playground as part of the company’s Adopt-a-School project.

“FedEx is an advocate of giving back to our local communities through action. I am proud of our volunteers who have demonstrated how to connect the world in a responsible and resourceful manner through volunteerism, and doing their part to enhance the environment in our communities,” said Carden.

In total, about 1000 FedEx volunteers in 12 Asia markets including Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam will take part in 36 community activities to support FedEx Cares Week.
