Central Pattana Public Company Limited (CPN) once again shines at the international arena by winning two awards from the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at the award presentation ceremony in Shanghai. CPN was the only shopping mall operator from Thailand to receive the awards: the Gold Award in Marketing — Grand Opening, Expansion and Renovation Marketing Campaign for the re-opening of CentralWorld in September 2010 after the crisis and the Silver Award in Innovative Design and Development of a New Retail Project for CentralFestival Pattaya Beach.

Ms. Wallaya Chirathivat, Senior Executive Vice President for Business Development and Construction of CPN stated: “We are very proud to receive the two honorable awards from the ICSC. This will emphasize the success of Thai retail business operators and the industry itself at a regional level, and will make Thailand the central shopping destination of Asia. These prizes confirm that CPN has the determination to develop the best shopping malls possible in every aspect and that we will give our customers the best shopping experience in terms of atmosphere, goods and services, and will continue to create new impressive experiences. CPN aims to bring in new innovations in order to take all of our shopping malls beyond the places where customers buy things. As the centers of everything, all of our branches must be aesthetic, artistic, and trend leaders that blend harmoniously with their surroundings. Our executives have always given their best to make sure of those aspects for our customers.”

“For CentralFestival Pattaya Beach, which received the Silver Award in Innovative Design and Development of a New Retail Project, CPN has invested over 7 billion baht in the development of the shopping mall to make it the biggest and most colorful premium lifestyle center of Eastern Thailand, which will meet the goal of making Pattaya a premium tourist destination of Thailand. CentralFestival Pattaya Beach will be a key magnet to attract high-end customers to countless premium shops and restaurants, including a five star hotel by the Hilton, which will bring more of them to the city of Pattaya. Because of CPN’s commitment, the architecture has been crafted to be one of the world’s most beautiful shopping malls through the cooperation with MAAR, Thailand’s leading architect, and Benoy, leading retail specialist, from the United Kingdom. CentralFestival Pattaya Beach is the only shopping center in Thailand with over 111 meters of beachfront. We thus designed the branch as a beach resort where customers can enjoy both the beauty of nature and the color of the city of Pattaya throughout the whole shopping experience. The building will also freshen up the view of the city and allow people to see Pattaya in a new way,” she added.

Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Executive Vice President, Marketing of CPN also said: “The Gold Medal from the ICSC is the best prize that the marketing team has ever received. We are fully committed to turning the crisis of CentralWorld into an opportunity to craft new creations and bring happiness back to society. CPN is thankful for all the concern and support shown. The return of CentralWorld through its re-opening was empowered by the crisis itself. The overwhelming support from those who love and had been missing CentralWorld helped us turn this crisis around greatly.”

With great persistence, the marketing team of CentralWorld has created new features to firmly build an ‘emotional connection’ with consumers. A heart figure was used in iconic activities to depict the bond that everyone shared with CentralWorld. We communicate with our customers through activities such as a flower tribute, the sales of ‘I Love CentralWorld’ T-shirts designed by Thailand’s leading designers and the Heart to Heart art exhibition with the Ministry of Culture, the BMA and the world’s leading artists.

“The staffs at CPN have been working hard throughout the crisis for CentralWorld to make a great and successful comeback. We are also holding festive activities including the Bangkok Countdown to gain back the momentum of happiness and the sense of confidence,” added Dr. Nattakit.
