Bangkruai Kindergarten was one of many schools demolished by flooding that could not be used for education. The school was submerged in about one metre of water for over a month and the floodwaters ruined everything: windows, chairs, desks and books. To bring smiles back to students and teachers after the flood, the “Elephant of Hope” project helped repair and repaint buildings as well as purchasing educational equipment.
Recently, Mr. Xuwat Wongchotewattana, Area Director of Human Resources - Thailand, together with associates from Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, visited the school to congratulate students and teachers on the new-look school and present educationalequipment. The group was warmly welcomed by students and teachers with a traditional Thai long drum dance performance.
“At Hyatt we are committed to making a difference in the lives of our neighbours and education is one of the pillars that we focus on as this can improve not only individuals but also the community. The beautification of Bangkruai Kindergarten has obviously brought happiness to all students, teachers and parents and this will bring positive energy to the school as well as to the community, encouraging students to study hard,” said Mr. Wongchotewattana.
Apart from this, Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok would like to express sincere thanks to its clients for their support of this good cause.
