Bangkok--11 May--Grayling Thailand
After having been piloted in Canada, Spain and Sweden, the mobile solution is now being rolled out in Thailand.IKEA has launched a new mobile web solution today making www.IKEA.com adapted to a mobile format.

Launched earlier, IKEA catalogue application was developed to improve user experiences on viewing IKEA catalogue via smartphones. Now IKEA has extended the solution to not only support the IKEA catalogue but also to enhance shopping experience on the IKEA website.

The new mobile solution comes in 3 formats; mobile website, iOS app and Android app. The solution enables customers to: browse IKEA products, check product information, check stock availability, create shopping lists, locate products in the Self-Serve area, find store locations, get directions to their nearest store, and navigate the store with a store plan map.

There are some differences between themobile website and the app. The mobile website works like a normal website but is optimized for a smaller screen. It can be accessed by all mobile devices with internet connection. The app version is a program developed especially for smartphones and tablets and it needs to be downloaded. What the app solution has on top of the mobile web is the offline functionality that allows users to view the recently added shopping list, promotions, store location and opening hours even without internet connection.

"With mobile usage growing exponentially, we should take steps to help all of our customers using mobile devices as shopping tools." MS. Lacia Sherlock, Store Manager of IKEA Bangna stated.

"The new solution is full of great features and pieces of information that will help improve the customer's shopping experience and gives access to the full range, basic store information, shopping list etc., " continued Ms. Sherlock.
