Motorola Solutions Foundation contributes to public safety and education initiatives in Thailand

Approximately 2.5 million baht (US$76,000) for public safety and students educational program

The Motorola Solutions Foundation, the charitable arm of Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI), announced grant contributions of approximately 2.5 million baht ($76,000 USD) to three organizations in Thailand, for programs aimed at improving public safety and education in the country.

The Foundation’s contributions of 844,800 baht (approximately $26,000) and 640,00 baht (approximately $20,000) to the Luckie Fellows Foundation and the National Defense College Alumni Think Thank Foundation will be used to organize training programs, seminars and planning efforts to improve public safety and increase the quality of life for the people of the country.

The Motorola Solutions Foundation also contributed 960,000 baht (approximately $30,000) to the Luckie’s Thinking Development Institute to organize a competition for students from the ages of five to 18, on the application of the Future Problem Solving (FPS) Process in real-life situations.

The Luckie Fellows Foundation to fund training courses and seminars under the “VHF/FM Radio Communication in Critical Applications” program to foster greater understanding on the use of radio communication in critical situations. Ten classes will be conducted to more than 3000 personnel and volunteers involved in police, safety and civil defense organizations.

The National Defense College Alumni Think Thank to organize a strategic conference titled “ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) Roundtable on Self-Sufficiency and Public Safety for Future Thailand Strategic Security.” This conferencewill be held at four locations across the country to address economic security and public safety issues arising from the creation of the AEC.

The Luckie’s Thinking Development Institute to organize a competition for students of the Future Problem Solving (FPS) classes to compete and gauge their ability to apply the FPS process in resolving real-life conflicts and national issues such as the AEC, public safety and ethics. The FPS program will help students enhance their critical- and creative-thinking skills.
