Key Growth Sectors – Medical, Automotive Applications and 3D Printing Technology

Driven by high demand for plastics products across ASEAN's vibrant economy, the region and Thailand in particular will continue to strengthen its role as a leading global hub of plastics manufacturing with more technologically advanced products.

With the Thai government's aim to build up Thailand as the medical hub of Asia and the robust growth reported in the medical moulding sector, medical plastics is a fast-growing sector of the plastics industry. Exhibitors at T-PLAS 2015 will be showcasing the latest technologies and applications such as 3D printing and plastic injection moulding, catered specifically for the high speed and high precision required in the manufacturing of medical devices as well as other medical disposable and durable products.

Another focus area of T-PLAS 2015 is in the application of plastics for the automotive industry. Thailand boasts of a high quality and mature automotive manufacturing ecosystem. Catering to professionals from this key sector, there will be a Plastics in Automotive conference, with a focus on Lightweighting and Sustainability. The conference, held in conjunction with Asian Plastics News, aims to provide latest updates on the global innovation advancements in plastics materials, design and processing.

Dr. Kriengsak Wongpromrat, Executive Director, Plastics Institute of Thailand said: "The plastics industry in Thailand is showing steady signs of growth, and events such a T-PLAS 2015 can strengthen links between Thai and foreign companies as well as give our local manufacturers an opportunity to grow into new markets."
