La Pâtisserie at The Okura Prestige Bangkok is offering a range of classic mooncakes for this year’s mid-autumn festival on 27 September 2015.

Visitors to La Pâtisserie may choose flavours such as lotus seed, custard, durian and mixed nuts as well as the specially-flavoured custard green tea. There is a choice of two presentation boxes. Four large mooncakes in a luxury gift box are priced at Baht 890. For a box of eight small Okura mooncakes, presented in a box decorated tastefully with perforated framework in the shape of the symbolic Okura ginko leaf, the price is Baht 568.

The mid-autumn festival, a traditional harvest festival, is one of the four most important festivals in China and is also widely celebrated amongst the Chinese diaspora across Asia and around the world. Mooncakes have been regarded for centuries as an integral part of the festival celebrations. The festival takes place on the night of the full moon in the eight month of the Chinese calendar.

Okura mooncakes are available from 1 August - 30 September 2015 at La Pâtisserie, located on the ground floor of the Park Ventures Ecoplex. Open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm (weekdays) and 8:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays.
