Goodyear (Thailand) Public Company Limited (GYT:SET) was recently honored with the "Environmental Good Governance" award from Thailand's Ministry of Industry. The award recognizes the leading tire makers' efforts in preserving and protecting the environment across all aspects of its business operations.

"This award is testament to Goodyear's ongoing commitment towards caring for the environment and communities that we operate in," said Mr. Phiphat Vorapipat, Executive Director of Goodyear Thailand. "We are honored by the accolade and will continue to deliver the highest quality in all that we do, and at the same time stay committed to our role in protecting the environment."

The panel of judges considered Goodyear's resolve to remain a responsible member of society, conduct its business in a safe and environmentally-friendly manner and positively support the communities where the company operates throughout Thailand.

Caring for the environment and communities is at the heart of Goodyear's environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) efforts in Thailand and around the world. Its EHS&S organization leads a strategy to reduce Goodyear's environmental impact across the full product lifecycle by conserving natural resources, minimizing waste and emissions, reusing and recycling materials, and managing energy use.

Goodyear routinely reports environmental data, documenting its progress in reducing the amount of materials that could pose harm to the environment. Its compilation and use of the data is in accordance with guidelines of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, an international organization that Goodyear joined in 2006.
