PRANDA GROUP Honored with the Workforce Award at "Disability Matters 2015: Asia-Pacific"

Pranda Group has been selected as an honoree for "Disability Matters 2015: Asia-Pacific - Workforce Category" by a panel of judges widely recognized for international disability support. In this year, world-renowned organizations from Asia, Europe and North America have received this prestigious award including two organizations from Thailand, namely Central Group and Pranda Group.

For over 40 years of operations, Pranda Group essentially gives high importance towards the disability concerns, supported by the policies developed to promote and create the career opportunity to the disabled. Currently, the Company has employed more than 37 disabled employees, accounted for 60:1 which was higher than the required law of 100:1. These employees are now working in management level, supporting units and production units and being offered with equal treatment in benefits and welfares. As most of the disabled employees are hearing-impaired, the Company provides trainings for normal employees to develop communication skill in sign language with more than 100 employees participated which could increase the effectiveness in workplace communication.

In addition, Pranda Group has established the long-term cooperation with schools and institutions for the disabled, providing training classes and study trips concerning jewelry manufacturing, granting learning equipment to support future careers in jewelry industry and inviting the experienced guest speakers in jewelry production to share knowledge and experiences. The Company has been in collaboration with various institutions in Thailand such as Khanchanapisek Royal Goldsmith College and Ratchasuda College, the school for the deaf in Nakhon Pathom and Kanchanaburi Province, Nakornluang Polytechnic College and the Art for All Foundation to support the disability concerns.

For Disability Matters 2015: Asia-Pacific, the award ceremony was held on 18 August 2015 at Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok by Springboard Consulting.
