Photo Release: Tesco Lotus plants 20,000 trees to celebrate achieving milestone of reducing usage of 28 million plastic bags

Mr. John Christie, Chief Executive Officer of Tesco Lotus, Mr. Charkrit Direkwattanachai, Head of External Communications and Sustainability, along with other Tesco Lotus management, participate in the ceremony to mark the planting of 20,000 trees as part of the retailer's tree planting project, which recruited the help of youngsters in the surrounding areas and more than 700 Tesco Lotus customers and employees. General Surayud Chulanont, Privy Councilor, presided over the ceremony at Phukae Botanical Gardens in Saraburi Province. The tree planting is in celebration of a significant milestone in the retailer's effort to promote a reduction in plastic bag usage. So far since the start of 2015, more than 28 million plastic bags have been saved collectively by Tesco Lotus customers throughout Thailand. The next milestones are 30 million and 40 million bags by the end of the year.
