Coke, the popular brand of beverage in Thailand and in the world by the Coca-Cola system in Thailand unveiled the 'The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour' today to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Coke's iconic glass bottle.

On display at this world-class exhibition are many priceless items inspired by Coke. Visitors to the exhibition, which opens for free public viewing (Oct 30, 2015) will enjoy a spectacular state-of-the-art exhibition on all aspects of sight, taste, scent, sound and touch surrounding the contour bottle of Coca-Cola, and how it withstood the test of time as a brand icon.

"The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour" is scheduled to be held in various key countries globally. All are key markets for Coca-Cola including USA, Mexico, Italy, South Africa, Brazil, Argentina, Japan and Thailand. For Thailand, this will be the finale of this extraordinary exhibition for the zone.

Flying in directly from Coke's head office in Atlanta to share the historical significance of Coke's brand icon that has captured the hearts of people around the world and inspired pop culture for 100 years is Mr. Ted Ryan, Coca-Cola's Director, Heritage Communications. Also present were Mr. Antonio Del Rosario General Manager of Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd., and bottling partners led by Mr. Jorge Chazarreta President of ThaiNamthip Co., Ltd. and Maj. Gen. Patchara Rattakul, Chief Operating Officer of HaadThip Plc. Joining the event were Coke ex-ambassadors 'Pup' Potato, Khemanit 'Pancake' Jamikorn and Apitsada 'Ice' Kruakongka as well as Thai stars and celebrities.

Mr. Antonio Del Rosario General Manager of Coca-Cola (Thailand) Ltd., said, "This year is an important year for Coca-Cola as its iconic glass bottle turns 100 years old with its outstanding contour shape design that is today known to people all over the world. 'The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour' exhibition is the highlight of this milestone event, and offers an assembly of tales and inspirations of the iconic glass bottle that influenced people's lifestyle, art, design, film and, particularly, pop culture since its introduction."

'The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour' features many art pieces and photographs by internationally-acclaimed artists such as Andy Warhol, Norman Rockwell, Eduardo Paolozzi, Steve Kaufman, Burton Morris, Michael Kalish, Bernd Hotzel, Haddon Sundblom, Steve Penley, Jeff Schaller, Jean Wells, Sally Tharp and Thailand's own Pakpoom Silaphan.

"On this occasion, Coca-Cola chose the works of Thai artist 'Pakpoom Silaphan' to display alongside those of world-class artists. The works of Pakpoom, a pop artist who made a name in England for over a decade, showcases his ideas of globalisation and mass consumerism and include objects or icons in different cultures around the world. For the exhibition, he used an advertising billboard with Coca-Cola's trademark in Thai to create contemporary art pieces," Mr. Del Rosario said.

Mr. Ted Ryan, Coca-Cola's Director, Heritage Communications who headed the art exhibition, said, "The iconic Coke glass bottle originated in 1915 as Coca-Cola demanded a unique packaging characteristic of the brand and it remains inimitable today. The bottle is unique for its contour shape that is recognisable even when you touch it in the dark or even in broken pieces on the floor. The glass bottle also offers a tasty 'perfect serve' experience that only Coke can give from drinking ice-cold cola.

"The glass bottle is also a classic icon that is timeless. It has inspired so many world-class artists in many disciplines to create priceless pieces of art. In the exhibition, we have assembled many art pieces. One of them is an original painting by 'Andy Warhol', the legendary artist who gave birth to pop art. We also have photos showing bonds between Coke and some of the world's icons like 'Marilyn Monroe' and 'Elvis Presley' as well as the original catchy jingle composed by the famous American singer and songwriter 'Ray Charles'," Mr. Ryan said.

Mr. Del Rosario adds: "Thailand is an important market in the region where Coca-Cola has operated for over 50 years. The first packaging it introduced to the market was Coke's glass bottle. So Thai consumers have an enduring bond with the iconic packaging and are familiar with it. We therefore invite the Thai public to join in the celebration of the glass bottle and let's enjoy a refreshing experience at 'The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour'. Not only will you experience greatness of legendary proportion, you will also enjoy a novel creation that will stimulate your imagination and senses through shape, scent, refreshing fizz and chill of Coca-Cola in the iconic glass bottle".

'The Coca-Cola Bottle Art Tour' is open free to the public for 7 days between Friday 30 October – Thursday 5 November 2015 (Mon-Fri: 11:00-20:00 hrs and Sat-Sun: 10:00-20:00 hrs) at Quartier Parc and Quartier Gallery (M floor) of The EmQuartier (BTS: Phrom Phong Station). Enjoy special mini concerts by 'Rose Sirinthip' (30 Oct) and 'Room39' (31 Oct) from 19:30 hrs.
