Finally, the semi –final round of Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition by Bacardi (Thailand) Co., Ltd. has come to the end. 15 bartenders presented their legacy cocktail to a panel of judges led by Mr. Peter Chua, the winner of Singapore Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition 2015 and industry experts. 5 finalists were finally announced.

Ms. Celine Louis, Bacardi (Thailand) Co., Ltd. commented that After a break of 2 years, the competition returns and has risen considerable interest and excitement from the bartender community. There are competitors from Bangkok, Samui and Chiangmai. The 5 finalists will have 4 months to promote their legacy cocktail at their own bars, other bars, as well as social media to invite consumers to taste. Moreover, there will be a series of workshops by the world's leading mixologists. The final round of Thailand's competition will be in March 2016.

The event was honoured by the presence of Peter Chua, winner of Singapore's Bacardi Legacy cocktail Competition and the finalists of Bacardi Global Legacy Cocktail Competition 2015. He acted as the leading member of the judging committee as well as a guest bartender, serving his Legacy cocktail along with Ms. Suwicha Singsuwan or Cha Cha and Mr. Suwan Seelee or Tommy, winners of Bacardi Legacy Cocktail Competition Thailand 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Ms. Wareewan Yodkamol, from Vesper, one of the 5 finalists disclosed, "the Little Wings cocktail creator said, "I Believe that all people are born with tiny wings themselves. With wings spread out to fly forward, always. As a bartender, My Goal is to give happiness to the guest seating, drinking and enjoying in my place. Whatever they feel, tired, sad , lonely , happy or unhappy. I am here to cheer up and give them a good time, to change a bad day to a better day. Like the Bat's wing of Bacardi, that have been through a lot of obstacles but still stand strong. This drink was created to give strength and good feelings to those who will experience it.

Mr. Mitchell 'Kai' Lum, from AmBar, the creator of Haole said, "I have been bartending and traveling the world now for over 3.5 years, and everywhere I go I am a foreigner. To embrace this, I always pay a special homage to where it is I've come from – Honolulu, Hawaii. Growing up in Hawaii, my snack of choice everyday was fresh and succulent pineapple, from our plate-lunch at school to several sliced open at the beach. Using this, I wanted to create a cocktail that combined the afternoon delight of my childhood, with my newly discovered pleasures of adulthood. My cocktail is called, "The Haole"

Mr. Hideyuki Saito, from Vogue Lounge, the creator of Quintus cocktail, said, " The inspiration is from the dryness and smoothness in Bacardi and also from a very old drink "Punch" which carries history and culture. To enhance this Bacardi's character, I make an aperitif with five elements of Punch. "Quintus" meaning fifth in Latin, I show my respect to fifth generation of Bacardi family, for what they had done, by naming the drink it, also it's named after Punch."

Mr. Sarawut Pinpech, Bamboo Bar, the creator of The Serenity said, "The serenity is inspired by the deliberate method of distilling Bacardi rum , from the way in selecting each ingredient to aging process same as my cocktail that combines the way of Thai cuisine , simple and elegant like Bacardi rum."

Mr. Sebastian De La Cruz from U.N.C.L.E the creator of The Expat said, "The drink I have made translates to my journey as a bartender and my move to Thailand. My travels resulting in me becoming an expat. Experiencing new cultures, inspirations and finding new flavours has helped me to create my cocktail as well as grow as a bartender."

The 5 finalists will take their legacy cocktail to compete in Thailand's final round in March 2016 to find Thailand's representative to compete in the world's final round in San Francisco, USA.
