Thailand New Year celebrations are set to sparkle at The Okura Prestige Bangkok

Guests will be celebrating the New Year in style at The Okura Prestige Bangkok. The programme for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day embraces top quality food and entertainment at the hotel's three restaurants.

Up & Above

Up & Above presents a sparkling New Year's Eve celebration international buffet dinner that combines popular Western and Asian dishes with the option of free-flow selected wines, local beers and cocktails until 11:00 pm.

The live band will keep guests on the dance floor until midnight when it's time to watch the city's spectacular fireworks displays from the 24th balcony and half-moon terrace.

The extensive New Year's Eve dinner buffet includes a Japanese station; a wide selection of Thai and Chinese dishes including wok-fried rock lobster with black pepper sauce and steamed dumplings with minced chicken; carvery with lamb, beef and salmon; a variety of international dishes including Wagyu cheek braised in Barolo; a choice of artisan cheeses and a simply amazing selection of home-made desserts. Buffet dinner priced at Baht 3,900++ per person. Dinner with free-flow of drinks from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm (cash bar after 11:00 pm) priced at Baht 5,000++ per person.

Children aged 4 - 12 years pay Baht 950++ per person at all Up & Above festive dining events.

Yamazato

At Yamazato the celebrations on New Year's Eve begin with a set lunch menu priced at Baht 1,500++ per person. For dinner on ?misoka (31 December 2015) there is a choice of Toshikoshi Soba Kaiseki (Baht 3,500++ per person) and Teppanyaki set (Baht 3,700++ per person) as well as the popular and very traditional late evening (10:00 pm – 11.30 pm) Toshikoshi Soba noodles (Baht 800++ per person).

Yamazato also offers two Osechi boxes priced at Baht 3,000 net and Baht 6,500 net for collection on New Year's Eve. Both boxes contain a delicious selection of traditional Japanese dishes Order between 1 November and 27 December 2015 for collection from Yamazato on 31 December 2015 between 11:00 am and 9:00 pm.

You are invited to join the traditional New Year mochi rice cakes ceremony on the 1st of January 2016 at the lobby on 24th floor of The Okura Prestige Bangkok at 10:00 am.

Yamazato welcomes 2016 with seasonal Shinnen (New Year) dishes in the restaurant decorated with traditional Kadomatsu (bamboo). The Gozen set lunch is priced at Baht 2,300++ per person. The Seiromushi Kaiseki set dinner, priced at Baht 3,600++ per person, includes a choice of main course between Satsuma Wagyu beef and a selection of seafood such as shrimp, king crab, oyster, mussel and scallop. A la carte dishes are also available, priced from Baht 230++. This seasonal Shinnen dishes are available from 1 – 3 January 2016.

Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara has also created a special set menu for diners to celebrate Shinnenkai with family, friends and business associates between 8 and 24 January 2016. The set dinner and welcome drink, priced at Baht 2,000++ per person, includes crisry-fried chicken, steamed squid dumpling with ginger sauce and leek, three kinds of sashimi, and tempura shrimp with sillago and vegetables plus miso soup and delicious desserts.

Yamazato restaurant opens for lunch from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and dinner from 6:00 pm to 10:30 pm and is located on the 24th floor of The Okura Prestige Bangkok.
