NACC AND UNDP ENTER INTO DECLARATION OF PARTNERSHIP

On 24 November 2015, the NACC Secretary-General Mr. Sansern Poljieak and the Deputy Resident Representative of UNDP (Thailand) Mr. Martin Hart-Hansen signed the Declaration of Partnership between the ONACC and the UNDP, in the presence of NACC President Mr. Panthep Klanarongran as well as NACC Commissioner Professor Pakdee Pothisiri. The Declaration of Partnership focuses on promoting the knowledge exchange and mutual assistance through concrete anti corruption activities.

In his remarks, NACC Secretary-General Mr. Sansern Poljieak highlighted that the Declaration of Partnership has strengthened inter-agency cooperation whereby both sides are confident that close collaboration will ultimately lead to successful anti-corruption projects.

This statement was resonated by Mr. Hart-Hansen's speech that "UNDP is ready to cooperate with NACC in developing an action plan for a clear framework for future activities aimed at enhancing effectiveness of anti-corruption efforts."

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is a development organ under the United Nations (UN) which assists the national counterparts' development and connects those countries to knowledge, experience and resource in order to help people build better quality of life. Acknowledging that corruption is the significant obstacle for such development, UNDP has been continuously cooperating with both the public and private sectors including the ONACC in several projects, i.e. the International Anti-Corruption Day activity, the NACC Youth Ambassador, the Youth Anti-Corruption Network under the concept of 'Refuse to be Corrupt' the Cafe of which has been launched recently in order to provide new generations with the space to exchange their perspectives to solve corruption problems in their community with the view to further promoting sustainable way forward for fighting corruption.
