Lincoln University of New Zealand has been recognised as a Five-Star institution by the QS Intelligence Unit, using the QS Stars methodology, a worldwide university rating system providing students with a comprehensive picture of an institution's qualities based on a total of 11 criteria.

Known as New Zealand's specialist land-based university, Lincoln University earned Five Stars in the categories of Teaching, Employability, Internationalisation, Facilities and Inclusiveness. Teaching emerged as the institution's strongest category, with maximum scores on faculty student ratio, overall student experience, and student satisfaction with teaching.

Lincoln University's Deputy Vice-Chancellor, International and Business Development, Jeremy Baker, said the recognition highlights Lincoln University's sustained level of high performance.

"We know we've been achieving it, and now the rest of the world is finding out. Potential students, both in New Zealand and overseas, can clearly see that Lincoln University is a world-class choice," said Mr Baker.

Lincoln University joins four other New Zealand universities – Auckland University of Technology, Massey University, the University of Canterbury and the University of Auckland (five stars plus) – in the 'five stars constellation'.

Education New Zealand (ENZ) South and South East Asia Regional Director Ziena Jalil said this latest rating further strengthens New Zealand's status as a quality international education destination.

"New Zealand's universities are committed to providing high-quality education opportunities for all their students – both local and international. All our universities feature globally in the top 500 of institutions in the 2014 QS World University Rankings and many of their programmes also feature in the Top-50 QS Subject rankings internationally.
