IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. has teamed up with MEX Exhibitions Pvt. Ltd. from India to organize PCB Expo Thailand 2016- ASEAN's only international exhibition on Printed Circuit Board & Electronic Assemblies. This exhibition will provide an opportunistic platform for the PCB community comprising of manufacturers, buyers, sellers and professionals to explore Thailand's electronic and electrical components sector. The event will be held from 19-22 April 2016 at Hall 8, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangkok, Thailand.

In a recent group interview, Mr. Pongsiri Daoruang, project manager, IMPACT Exhibition Management Co., Ltd. commented, "The PCB market in Thailand has been growing exponentially during the last three decades, including the formation of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). These are the main reasons for organizing this first edition of PCB Expo Thailand 2016. We expect that this exhibition will be a gateway to the ASEAN region and its electronic components markets. It will bring together more than 50 exhibitors from all across the world, from countries like Dubai, China, India, Korea Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan and Europe. Moreover, it will include innovation & technology companies who will provide a glimpse of PCB testing, assembly, and raw materials to support printed circuit boards. We are also focusing on visitors who are working in the Printed Circuit Board & Electronic Assemblies sector, for example consumer electronics, automotive electronics, communication, semi conductor assembly and automation. An estimated 30,000 national and international trade visitors are expected to visit the show, including those from the Government and education sector".

"This year, PCB Expo Thailand 2016 will be held concurrently with LED Expo Thailand 2016 - ASEAN's largest International Exhibition on LED Lighting Products and Technology, and Thailand Energy Saving Week 2016 - ASEAN's Largest International Exhibition on Energy Saving Products & Technology. Additionally, a conference has been set up, which is being supported by both the Government and private sector. We have also introduced the VIP Hosted Buyer Programme, a distinctive program for international buyers to visit and experience a variety of products and services exhibited in the event" added Mr. Pongsiri.

Mr. Supachak Manutsathit, a representative of Thai Electrical Electronics and Telecommunication Industries Association, emphasized the importance of the printed circuit board or electronic devices, pointing out that "PCB is the heart of any electronic device. That is why PCB has to be tested for 100% accuracy otherwise it might not work. About the demand for printed circuit board in the near future, we started with mobile phones, growing up to 20% each year, although it is a small base. Medical devices are also pointing in the PCB design direction. However, it has more layers and is more complex, but definitely a new trend in PCB".

Mr. Pornpisit Nitisupornrat, assistant general manager, Circuit Industries Co., Ltd., a leading printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer in Thailand, talked about the growth direction of the business, shared his views by saying, "The domestic market is likely to grow by 10% due to international companies moving their production bases to Thailand (Assembly plants or R&D plant base). The Telecommunications and Infrastructure Industry, such as cell towers and mobile phone IT equipment, will increase the most. Appliances in the Industrial Consumer Automotive sector will grow even more. The highlights of our company products are Multi-Layer HDI. It is able to drill the holes from top to bottom and not beyond. It can save space in the work area. The process of Multi-Layer HDI is more difficult than normal Multi-Layer".

Dr. Sujaree Kaewgun, business manager- Electronics, Atotech (Thailand) Co., Ltd. remarked, "The trends in the Thai PCB market show a growth rate of almost 10%. Atotech, as a supplier is preparing to support this ASEAN market growth prospect by moving their chemical production plant out of China and opening a new production facility in Malaysia. This relocation was necessary because of time consuming transportation and rising costs."

SHINK-TAK DOUGLAS LAU, PhD, assistant general manager, Bangkok Industrial Laminate Co., Ltd. says, "Our company's plan is to market to customer sectors which include direct customers from the PCB industry and the automotive industry. The short-term plan is dedicated for the automotive group, while the long term plan is to produce PCBs to reduce energy use in the electronics industry."
