SPU Students Showed Volunteering Spirit in the Thai Red Cross Blood Donation Campaign

Wednesday 30 March 2016 15:40
Sripatum University by Student Affairs Division in collaboration with Thai Red Cross (TRC) organized the Blood Donation in celebration of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's 60th birthday anniversary. The activity was held at Exhibition Hall of building 11, Sripatum University. On this occasion, a group of students from TRC Youth Volunteer Club, which has just been established at Sripatum University, participated in the activity as facilitators to support the TRC team.

Sripatum TRC Youth Volunteer Club was created by students who wish to dedicate some of their times and efforts to help society especially within the University. By joining the blood donation campaign with Thai Red Cross, this group of students started their volunteer work by supporting blood donors during the donation process, including greeting, registration, and provide refreshments to blood donors.

With students' goodwill and intention, it is interesting to see how their time and skills play a vital role in helping TRC team achieve the mission of blood donation. Let's invite them to share their thoughts and experience in this volunteering activity.

Ms. Sunisa Narongrak, a 3rd year student of the School of Business Administration majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, an alumnus of Wichienmatu School in Trang province. "Today I have class in the afternoon. I intended to be here early morning in order to assist the team in the Blood Donation. It is my responsibility that I am definitely willing to take. My assistance to this event is not only for our Sripatum TRC Youth Club, but also for me to be a good role model for other younger students. Volunteering comes from the goodwill not being forced." said Ms. Narongrak.

Ms. Wisuta Hansungnern, a 3rd year student of the School of Business Administration majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, an alumnus of Nawamintrachutit Bangkok School. "Despite difficulties, volunteering with the job I like always gives me happiness. Happiness comes from doing a job you love. As I volunteer to help Thai Red Ross today, I am very happy to see many people come here for the blood donation." said Ms. Hansungnern.

Ms. Nichanan Tongsak, a 3rd year student of the School of Business Administration majoring in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, an alumnus of Tha Muang Ratbamrung School in Kanchanaburi province. "I am always happy to do whatever to help people and society. This kind of helping behavior may have been instilled in me since I was young. I was grown up in the countryside where people helped each other whenever needed such as for wedding ceremony, ordination, even for funeral. Today I have free morning time to help Thai Red Cross with blood donation, before my class in the afternoon. It is advised that we have to also manage time well, volunteering should not take too much time out from our study." said Ms. Tongsak.

These are the very positive feelings expressed by our SPU students towards giving and sacrifice. To experience the wonderful feeling like these, you may want to join at least one of volunteering activities dedicating your time for other people and society. You may finally find where the real happiness comes from. Give a try!
