AIT signs tripartite Agreement with Indonesia for Joint Master’s Education Program

Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has signed a tripartite agreement with Diponegoro University (UNDIP), and the Agency for Human Resources Development (AHRD), Ministry of Public Works and Housings (PUPR), The Republic of Indonesia, for offering a Joint Master's Education Program.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed by Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, Dean, AIT's School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Assoc. Prof. Agung M. Wibowo, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, UNDIP; and Prof. Ir. Anita Firmanti, Head of The Agency for Human Resources Development, Ministry of Public Works, on 12 April 2016.

Under the agreement, a UNDIP-AIT-AHRD PUPR Joint Master's Education Program will be offered jointly by UNDIP and AIT. It will be a four-semester two-year program, with students studying at AIT's SET for their third semester, while pursuing their first year and thesis work at UNDIP. The program will begin this year, and it is designed for employees who receive a full-scholarship from Indonesia's Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

The first part of the program will focus on Infrastructure Engineering and Management at UNDIP. Following the successful completion of this course, students will enrol for studies in Construction Engineering and Infrastructure Management (CEIM) at AIT, after which the students return to Indonesia for their thesis work.

Also attending the MoA signing ceremony were Mr. Shawn Patrick Kelly, Acting Head, External Relations and Communications Office (ERCO); Ms. Sumana Shrestha, Senior Program Officer, ERCO; and Ms. Tripti Rajbhandari, Senior Program Officer, SET.
