Western Union, a leader in global payment services, recently awarded 25 top employees of its Agents in Thailand a trip to Tokyo, led by Atish Shrestha, Regional Director, Western Union – Indochina, to attend workshop and experience the famous Sakura cherry blossoms. The Western Union Star Thailand winners, comprised of representatives from Western Union Agents, received "Agent's Location Award", the "ABMT Star Award", the "Myanmar Outbound Star Award" or "Activations Star Award." Also included in the Western Union Star Thailand awards is the much coveted, WU Superstar Award that was awarded to Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited.

Each of the more than 6,200 Agent locations of Western Union in Thailand was evaluated based on operational growth excellence, increasing operational turnover, the appearance of the Agents' service locations, and effectiveness of supporting Western Union's marketing campaigns during the last year. The Western Union Star Thailand awards aim to improve Western Union Agents' service quality, upgrade Western Union customer experience, boost the volume of transactions at Western Union Agents in Thailand, enhance teamwork and foster a better corporate culture.

Atish noted, "The Western Union Star Thailand Award programme is part of our commitment to continuously enhance the relationship between Western Union and its Agents. The Award programme enables leaders from both Western Union and its Agents to meet and exchange ideas and experiences that will best serve Western Union's users. The exchange of ideas and experiences has proven to be an effective exercise to enhance efficiency and professionalism among our Agents, mutually boosting business growth and increasing service awareness among both Thai and foreign consumers."

The workshop provided participants with activities, such as service standard training and a chance to visit Western Union® Agent locations in Japan. The winners also went on a tour of Mount Fuji and enjoyed a sightseeing tour of Tokyo's famous cherry blossoms, before flying back to Bangkok.

"I'm very pleased to continue to support such a great programme that helps to drive Agent service efficiency in Thailand. We are committed to and continue to cooperate and facilitate dialogue to help us achieve service excellence," added Atish.
