Goodyear (Thailand) Public Company Limited (GYT:SET) was recently honored with the Certificate of ESG100 ( Environmental, Social, Governance) from the Thaipat Institute for its outstanding sustainability performance and commitment to preserving and protecting the environment in the automotive sector in Thailand.

In 2016 the Thaipat Institute, established as a public interest organization that promotes sustainability, analyzed annual reports of publicly traded companies in Thailand. Their assessment focused on more than 11,500 data points from 6 data sources.

There were a total of 100 ESG100 certificate winners in 2016 with Goodyear Thailand receiving the only award presented to eligible contestants in the Automotive Category

"We are very proud to be the only company in the automotive sector to receive this award, granted by the Thaipat Institute The award is a recognition of our commitment to creating a firm foundation for sustainability and working with our suppliers in Thailand to minimize our environmental footprint," said Finbarr O'Connor, Managing Director of Goodyear Thailand. "We are excited to make further progress in raw materials optimization, operational efficiency and reducing energy use in our supply chain together with all our associates in Goodyear Thailand."

Sustainability and commitment to care for the environment and communities is at the heart of Goodyear's environmental, health, safety and sustainability (EHS&S) efforts in Thailand and around the world. Its EHS&S organization leads a strategy to reduce Goodyear's environmental impact across the full product lifecycle by conserving natural resources, minimizing waste and emissions, reusing and recycling materials, and managing energy use.

Goodyear routinely reports environmental data, documenting its progress in reducing the amount of materials that could pose harm to the environment.

Its compilation and use of the data is in accordance with guidelines of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, an international organization that Goodyear joined in 2006.
