A Call to Action for Thailand as it advances diverse efforts to achieve the UNs 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development General—16 Jan 17

Bangkok--16 Jan--Aziam Burson-Marsteller
We cordially invite you to a luncheon, press briefing and panel discussion: "A Call to Action for Thailand as it advances diverse efforts to achieve the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development"
The 2030 Agenda comprises 17 new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), or Global Goals, which will guide policy and funding for the next 15 years.

The concept of the SDGs arose at the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20, in 2012. The objective was to produce a set of universally applicable goals that balances the three dimensions of sustainable development: environmental, social, and economic.

The Global Goals replace the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), which in September 2000 rallied the world around a common 15-year agenda.

Thailand has assumed a regional leadership position in undertaking a detailed, comprehensive self-assessment of its collective efforts to achieve these goals applying rigorous UN criteria that drive a transparent understanding of both progress made to date and the many daunting challenges for all signatory countries.

This media event and panel discussion will also feature the launch of a new book, "A Call to Action: Thailand and the Sustainable Development Goals", a 184 page illustrated book designed to reach and a
