The MoU was signed by President, MTR Academy, Mr. Morris Cheung, and President, AIT, Prof. Worsak Kanok-Nukulchai.
Mr. Cheung, who was accompanied by Deputy Dean of MTR Academy, Dr. Mark Ho, mentioned that MTR is one of the world's leading railway operators. In its home base of Hong Kong, the Corporation operates 10 commuter railway lines, on which about 5.6 million passenger trips are made on a normal week day. Another 5.6 million passenger trips are made on the rail services it operates outside Hong Kong in the Mainland of China, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Australia. Dr. Mark Ho stated that the MTR Academy has launched accredited programs and they are now looking beyond Hong Kong.
AIT President, Prof. Worsak described AIT as a perfect platform for international cooperation. AIT is not a traditional university, and it actively engages with partners from the government, international organizations as well as the industry and the private sector, President Worsak added.
Representing AIT at the MoU signing ceremony were Prof. Voratas Kachitvichyanukul, Dean, School of Engineering and Technology (SET); Dr. Surachet Pravinvongvuth of SET; Mr. Shawn Kelly, Director, Office of External Relations (OEXR); and Ms. Wannapa Pliansri, Coordinator, OEXR.
